spock
I 've ordered a RXW MM from ken it looks great but there is some dust and a spot on the dial. The (White ) spot is visible with the naked eye in an angle but you must look very good. Not big but it's not a cheap watch so i've mailed Ginza. They are willing to solve this problem. I must send it to Ginza (fed ex) they will fix the problem. Now my question ,is this wise? It's a rep i know but Marina Militare is not illegal. The only thing what is illegal is the CG. So is it better to send the watch without CG? Suppose Customs open the package they can't do anything or am i wrong? fitmic
I might be way off, but isn't Marina Militaire copyrighted too? I'd love to hear what others advice you. Best of luck anyway!
spock
No Marina Militare is NOT copy protected. Panerai , (Rolex) didn't ask for copyright. (patent) for the text MARINA MILITARE. There is one thing what is illegal on that watch the CG. Edited July 23, 2006 by spock
Usil
You will get two different views on this. Some will say that this is entirely too small an issue to waste spending more money on to have it corrected. I am in this group. If I took a loop to my watches I am sure I would see things that I would later obsess over and I have expensive watches too. If I can not see it from an arms distance it is not worth the effort and expense. The others here in the forum will be for you to send it back as this being entirely unacceptable. This is a personal choice and I do not think there is a right or wrong answer. Do this, put it away for a week, bring it back out and wear it for a week and if you still feel the same, send it back. Sometimes time sorts this all out in terms of priorities. Usil Edited July 23, 2006 by Usil
chris5264
That is an easy fix if you can find a watchmaker to work on it. It would probably take about 5 mins and you wouldn't have to send it out.
lancelot
@ Spock: That is very easy to fix, look for a watchsmith in your area, he just will remove back case cover then the Crown guard and stem, clean the dial and reassemble it again, any watchmaker can do that. spock
i know but the problem is not the dust but the spot. the spot is visible in a certain angle. it looks like someone scratched the surface on the dial. i know it's a tiny spot but for that money i want perfection. also all my gen brand watches ( 16 pcs) does not have any flaw, come one i'm not paying euro 1200 - 1500 for a watch with flaws! Not me. Maybe i 'm going to sell it. also i've changed the text from my 2nd message. It must be: No Marina Militare is NOT copy protected. Panerai , (Rolex) didn't ask for copyright. (patent) for the text MARINA MILITARE. There is one thing what is illegal on that watch the CG. Edited July 23, 2006 by spock
chris5264
If you sent pics of the problem, perhaps they would send you a new dial?
