southwest
I have a GMTII with an Asian 2836 IHS movement. I am going to attempt to reset the keyless works. I have searched but can't find out how to remove the dial. I have removed the hands. There are no screws in the side of the movement to loosen and lift off the dial like in one post I found. It appears there are 2 small pins attached to the dial that go into a plastic ring. Do I just gently pry the dial out? Is this dial attached by glue somehow? Can someone point me to a "how to do" with this problem? I found an excellent thread on fixing the keyless works. Al
Rolexman
Indeed, usually you can just gently pry it out. Occasionally they also use some 2-sided tape but I never encountered that. Loosen the two screws on the side of the movement and try to gently lift the dial. You could try using a jewelers scewdriver as a lever. Be carefull not to stick in in too deep as you could scratch the date-wheel. Good luck.
