kenneth2
some general answers to you post a solid case rep will usually be a harder tell than a open case back, that is because the movement is one of the hardest items of a watch to rep correct, with a closed case back you cover the movement so it doesnt have to be perfect usually most good reps will have the correct case back for the version it is, so you dont have to worry that much about if the back is correct you will have to study the rep forums more to get a better idea which version or dealers version you feel are best, this is because all reps have some flaws but not ll the same ones, so you have to figure which ones are more important to you. what you can live with and with out as far as value, the price curve starts getting pretty steep as you get closer and closer to a gen. i would think you will be ahead if you buy a pam that has the obvious tells fixed buy the dealer/seller from the start, rather than buying a less expensive version and then having it modded buy someone later. tells that most want fixed are the recessed cannon pin, poor fitting CG lever pin, poor lum and cheap looking straps. plan on buying a quality gen strap or quality aftermarket strap. tells like case shape, dial design, hands, crystal and movement are more up to personal tastes and start to cost more money to fix hang in there keep going over old posts, look at gen sites, ask more questions. dont be in a hurry to buy, and even if you do all your home work you will probably make some changes after your purchases since you will learn from what you buy also. hope that helps
