ronny25 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Share Posted January 24, 2009 Hi gents, I' ve got this BCE for some 10 days, and the datewheel is not aligning properly. It is affecting all numbers, but gets aprticularly visible on dates ranging 17 to 29. I can live with it, but then I wonder if this isn' t a sign something isn' t quite alright with the mechanism, and that I should still send it in for repair. Here' s a shot of the problem: you can even see, where circled in red, the top of the following number. here is how it should be (after aligning it properly by tweaking with the datewheel) What' s you opinion guys? poopypants Posted January 25, 2009 Report Share Posted January 25, 2009 dont have a fix for you but i do have the same problem with mine... i just end up leaving it alone most of the time... and when its really bad, i do a quick alignment adjustment... i dont seem to have this problem on my skyland or avnger models... only my bce... i am sure there is some sort of adjustment that can be made during a service... maybe one o four 7750 specialists can chime in... Mine has the same issue (Skyland), it is totally not worth sending it back for, and I doubt the dealer would agree anyway...... Plus the replacement would likely have some other issues anyway. I bet your watch has a nice clean dial and hands by the look of it, and an aligned/straight Breitling wings on the dial, which is a bonus with these reps Just be thankful most of the dates are OK, and that it is not misaligned to the left or right, or too low, as then you would be able to do nothing about it via the crown A service of the movement would not help, as the date wheel is printed slightly out, so it cannot be corrected.... ronny25 Posted January 25, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2009 ok I keep it then. as I said I' m not that bothered about the problem itself, as it' s hard to see unless you can stare at the watch from close range. and on the numbers where it gets too obvious, I can always fix it by turning the datewheel slightly. but I was more worried this was a sign the watch was dying or something. and it' s definately not a printing prob, it' s just that when changing date, the date stays stuck too high in the date window, so much so that you can see the following number at the bottom of the date window. Mickey Padge Posted January 25, 2009 Report Share Posted January 25, 2009 What else is it, if not the way the date wheel was originally printed? The date wheel is moving by the exact same amount with each date switch, but it is not quite printed correctly, so it becomes slightly out of alignment..... (in your case a little too high, some worse than others) That was the exact same problem with Lello's custom made PAM and Breitling date wheels, misaligned printing causing the date to sit wrong in the window.
