madasboot
A final pic of the strap after 1 week of sunbathing (on vacation one week ahead of me!). This one will be sewn to the lugs of my 3646 (wonderfully modded by Finepics and one its way back home). BTW does anyone know where to source more of these amazing buckles? M. leitztozeiss
M, where did you source the Brevettato clear back? Was it from a donor watch?
madasboot
Cortebert engraving on gear removed? Hi Leitz, Nope! No removing... a simple gear replacement... (The second mvmt arrived today) I can get you one clear gear if you want it for replacement. The brevetatto back was bought with the case on ebay (from a nice seller - jetbaker2049 - who is no longer registered). M.
leitztozeiss
Very clean. I like it. Was it a gear swap from a donor movement, or was the original gear modded?

madasboot
The land of Cortebert!!!!! What vintage are you going to build with the OTHER twin movement??? 3646 maybe? Leitz, I will keep the one with the clear gear and will trade the other one (or replace the rusty Molnija on my 3646 with it!). M.

Finepics
Leitztozeiss - I got myself two of these babies now and they do run sweet. The tick is more refined and they ooze quality!! Look out for my 2 new projects which will make an appearance sometime soon. One is a Radiomir but not the usual ones, the other might be featuring an 8 day movt and some very unusual hands!!!!!! Finepics
Wow, which 8 day movement? Is it Angelus? I look forward to seeing your completed projects!! Could be an Angelus indeed!! A word of advice to anyone looking for an Angelus 240 calibre - there are many variants of the same movt but the crucial factor is to look for one that has a winding crown/stem windwhich will be at the bottom of the clock (these movts were mostly used in small alarm clocks - how many of us now remember what our parents must have thrown out!!!). Many of these movts have a key wind and are missing the keyless works which really renders them useless for a watch as these parts are impossible to obtain.
