Guest Dr.TuB
Here are the AR comparison the UPO. sorry if someone has done comparison already standard rep AR chieftang's double AR K2222's last double AR before he disappeared on gen dial group shots Conclusion: chieftang's double AR is still the best in my opinion
b16a2
Great comparison, we have seen comparisons of AR and no AR, but never a comparison between all three on the same watch! Which of the three do you prefer? EDIT - I take it from seeing your sales thread it's not the Orange one Edited February 5, 2009 by b16a2

However because im a perfectionist, i cannot allow scratches on my watch. and thats why im selling it and also, i like the black insert more... lol

And as per previous conversation the upo and gen dials do look pretty spot on. The gen dial is a little finer on righting and the border on the lume it looks like. thanks
HauteHippie
What's up with all the scratches? This might be another defective UPO coating... UPO crystals have been a little problematic in the past and sometimes need to be recoated to fix. I may actually stop doing UPO crystals in the future to avoid further complications, but any that are not performing properly (scratching too easily) from past runs can be fixed. b16a2
Please check pm Chief. or maybe you can answer on here. how do we go about fixing the scratches? how much is the fix? It happened with one of mine too. It's thought to be down to an invisible coating on the outside of the crystal which reacts with the double AR. It makes the coating softer than it should be, hence more lliable to scratching and marks. The only way to cure it is to remove the crystal, go over it with a dremel and some acetone (or methods similar) and re-coat the crystal. It would be advisable to anyone who has a UPO crystal ready for AR to be aware of this and to make sure they give their cystal a thorough going over to remove all AR/other residue on the crystal.
