If you see Kay Posted March 10, 2009 Report Share Posted March 10, 2009 May be a silly question but I've read some of the tutorials and from what I gather, I really don't need to wind it except to get it started once the power reserve has all been used up. Is this correct? Can't I just lightly shake the watch left to right in my hand to get the movement to start working again. I've been doing this all the time whenever it stops, but I"ve read that I should / can also unscrew the crown and then start winding (in the other direction) to get it started. What is the difference in restarting the watch in either way? If winding is the right way to restart the watch, how much should I wind. By-Tor Posted March 10, 2009 Report Share Posted March 10, 2009 No matter what the dealers' info say: You don't have to hand wind it. It's actually recommended that you WILL NOT hand wind it.
