hankstamper Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Hello all, I am another new member of this forum and inexperienced with IWC rep watches. I just read Seadweller's guide to IWC reps (amazing) and I'm wondering who I should buy an IWC Portuguese watch from? i.e who is King? Just looking for a good reliable website to buy from - I'd be happy with a Portuguese Chrono, Chorono Automatic or an Automatic. Thank you!
liquid-air888 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 King is a good dealer. Fast communication and delivery. I got my IWC Portu Chrono last year and still works well until today. The website is: kingwatches.net Hello all, I am another new member of this forum and inexperienced with IWC rep watches. hooky Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Why would you want to buy a Portuguese Chrono? out of the box around 4 out of 5 will have big problems in the first 2 years. Please do a search on RWG and you will find out that these watches are HIGHLY irreliable because of a badly performed modification to get the running seconds from the 9 to 6. cheers & good luck.
hankstamper Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 For a rep watch similar to the style of the IWC Portuguese Chrono that is more reliable, what does everyone recommend, and where to buy? I like the style of the Portuguese, with larger dial and leather strap, but want something that will work in a year. Thanks.
Guest asim Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 well i've seen a rep vintage portuguese which had a great size and was on a strap. http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-portugieser-f...--24388--1.html i haven't bought from this seller, but I was considering the watch very much.. asim
