So, I went to wind my watch this morning and watched the balance wheel and all of the sudden it stopped. i looked it under a loupe and saw that one of the welds/whatever holds the hairspring on at one end broke and my watch stopped :(

What can i do?!

What movement?

If its a 2836,2824 or 7750 I have some spares that I could send you.

Never mind, I didnt pay attention that this was in the Pam section. I have no parts for any of these.

It happens all the time, mostly to the latest models of these asian movements.

The fix it to simply re-glue the spring tip into the stud post, but you need to tools and skill to get the hairspring flat and concentric, and you need a timing machine to re-set the beat and rate following the repair.

Baha,

All I have are watchmaker screwdrivers and a 12x loupe.

Hmm... How much for an eintirely new movement?

i also just broke the hairspring on the same movement (new Asian) this week, and I understand it may be more convenient to replace the entire balance (which runs USD 75 maybe). not sure if this requires more or less skill than the previously suggested fix.
