SMS Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 (edited) Hi All, Is there any one here who could service my Gen Vintage Rolex Oyster. It might also need a new crown tube. I would also like to have the dial relumed. Thanks in advance, Bill Mpls, MN Edited April 7, 2009 by SMS

krustybrand Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 If you want it to retain any value, you will need the service papers from Rolex. Given the difficulty sourcing genuine parts these days, I would be inclined to send it to the Rolex service center.
freddy333 Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Save for Rolex's higher labor costs, it is usually best to have Rolex service your Rolex watch. In addition to the reasons previously mentioned, I would add that Rolex specs some hard-to-get oils that few watchmakers outside the official Rolex service network have access to. Also, if your watchmaker does not have a Rolex parts account, you will likely end up paying more for any parts required or you could end up with non-Rolex parts in your watch.
