How to replace bezel insert on UPO?

The only safe way is to remove the movement, press out the crystal, then you can access the inner edge of the insert and slip a knife between it and the bezel in the crystal opening, and pry the insert off.

If you don't know how to do this and don't have the tooling, best to have someone do it for you.

I say live with the scratch. the UPO is a tool watch, yes its pretty too, but its built to take the abuse.

But if you still want to replace it, the dog's advise is the best you can get.

I had no problems removing an insert that I replaced recently by sticking a 1mm jewelers screwdriver between the edge of the bezel and the insert and gently prying it up. Sure it destroyed the old insert, but who cares. I cleaned the old glue off the bezel and used a small amount of epoxy to carefully fasten the new insert in place. Obviously not the proper way to do it (see Dog's post) but it was simple and quick.
