SportsterRider Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Does anyone know offhand if a 2892-A2 will work in a UPO case? I'm thinking about a swap and would like to know as much as possible about what I might need to make the switch work.
marrickvilleboy Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 It really depends on which case you have. Some UPOs are fitted with 2824s and some with 2836s. If yours has the 2824, then the 2892 will fit (although not as snuggly, but its hardly noticeable. Its all to do with the alignment of the stem with the crown tube and the dial with the case since the movements have different heights. Hope this helps.

I didn't know that some had 2836's. I was under the impression that it was either a 2824, or the high beat asian UPO Lite. Mine is a UPO Lite, with the Asian movment. Thanks for the info!!
marrickvilleboy Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 yeah i've seen both the asian movement in the LITE and 2836s when working on other people's watches. If yours is the LITE, that should be the same class as the ETA 2824s that came in the same era. I think the 2892s should fit, but you gotta get new hands and the dial feet doesn't match up either.
