zaazaa
Been working on ordering some Reps for near a month now. I've got my Chopard done, as well as my Omega. Now, after a trip to the Gen store and a some research, I'm having trouble working out the Panerai I'd like. I first went to the Gen story and tried on a Radiomir and fell in love with it. I thought it was this (didn't pay close enough attention): 183 So I came home and did a bunch of research, but then realized that it was instead this: 287 (on the end) My research seems to show that the 287 is a bit thicker than the 183 (which I like). I can only find one listing of a rep of the 287, and it doesn't have sapphire or a "clasp" buckle. 1. Does anyone know if they make a "high end" rep of the 287? 2. Do any of the Pans come with a buckle clasp? 3. Can anyone shed more light on the difference between the 183 and 287? Thanks so much for the help. scotty
183 - mechanical hand wound, slow beat 287 - automatic with date. Probably high beat. Not sure if a good 287 does exist - you'll bump into the usual problems probably.... * date font * date magnification cyclops (I mean getting the right magnification level) * correct hands shape/length for the model * saphire crystal - maybe a saphire for the 183 would fit, in which case you could source a 183 saphire and replace it into the 287 Otherwise the rad cases have been pretty well done, as well as the dials. Rep straps not v.good, so you'll need a quality aftermarket strap. Remember Rads in 45mm normally have 27 x 22mm tapered straps. Not sure if that is different for 47mm Rads - I think they're the same, but as the 183 and 287 are both 45mm it's not relevant here. Not sure if there are rep deployment buckles for rads - I'll guess and say yes.

zaazaa
Thanks for the info. Has anyone purchased a rep pan that had a buckle clasp like this gen? : http://cgi.ebay.com/PANERAI-RADIOMIR-PAM-2...93%3A1|294%3A50
Romp
those deployments are not very comfy - i prefer a tang... but I havent seen a deployment like that before offered as rep. You may be able to get a gen OEM and slap it on
