Finepics
Just recieved my copy of the Panerai Style book 2 even though I can't read a ###### word of it and inside there is a photo of the 2004 PAM188 which has silver sub hands (not black) and non recessed subdials !! Watchmeister
May be its a rep. You don't suppose they pulled a Panerai and shot a prototype? I don't own a 188 but three friends do (although one just sold his). All had recessed dials and black hands. Then again I did not ask them what year they had. My big complaint is the font on the numbers.

I think that was the prototype initially unveiled at the SIHH show...
Watchmeister
Aha. Thanks to Panerai shooting prototypes for catalogs and books I have more than one rep which I would not have bought if they had taken the time to shoot what they actually sell. It's all a conspiracy. After all, do you really think it is an accident that the website shows the 217 with the wrong bridge plates on it?
