Hi,

does anyone have photos of the quartz movements used in gen watches.

are gen quartz movements used in reps or are clones of quartz movements used?

Thanks

There is a large variety of quartz movements available. Variety in terms of quality and price. I don't think there are replicated Seiko or Citizen quartz movements on the market. A rep manufacturer will probably just use a cheap mass-produced movement.

Replication makes economic sense when you take advantage of the marketing dollar and status of an established pricey brand by making a cheap look-alike. Who would pay a buck to get a rep Seiko quartz movement?

Check the catalogue here-

Many different brand movements are interchangeable, so there really is no such thing as a "clone"

Most of the top line quartz watches run ETA or Rhonda movements, then the next level will run Japanese-Seiko (Hattori) and Citizen.

Finally progressing to the thousands of Chinese movements.
