Chronus
These are great looking watches, and from what I remember, quite accurate. Did the seconds at 6 ever improve in reliability that it became a good product to purchase? Or did it remain a POS?
robertk
I can't speak for others but mine is over a year old and works fine. Never had an issue with it. Other seconds at six in my collection had problems but not this one. I use the chrono's regularly. I haven't heard much complaining on this model......unless I'm the only one who bought it? Logan
I have a couple of these and both have issues. I'm in the process of stripping and applying the graphite treatment. Unless you able to do that I'd have to say stay away from these.
Chronus
i've heard from one of the respected dealers (ie. not the Borg collective) that these aren't as bad as the seconds at 6 Daytona or the Portuguese, but the Ingenieur seems to do well. I don't recall seeing many bought on these boards though... I stayed away because of the movement. robertk - has yours ever been serviced? Or were you lucky to get a correctly lubricated one? silverspeed
My guess is the Ingy Chrono has the same issues as the other A7750 Secs at 6. I've had 2 Ingy Chrono's, 2 Daytona's and also 2 Portuguese's. The failure rate is about 50% in my case so it's hit or miss I guess. The Daytona and Portuguese are being advertised as improved movements wich is marketing BS, see the review done by Francisco. I've had one of the Daytona's and one of the Ingy's serviced and the watchsmith told me the later A7750 versions are at least much better then they used to be. In my case the A7750 in the Daytona was the better movement. If you really like the IWC Ingy Chrono have it serviced and the graphite treatment applied and you'll have the best possible change for a keeper. I've never serviced it and haven't a clue whether it is correctly lubricated. I've never opened it. It runs fine. Luck of the draw?

Luck of the draw? I guess so... you got lucky! I wonder how long it will last for ? Do you wear it often ?
robertk
I guess so... you got lucky! I wonder how long it will last for ? Do you wear it often ? Chronus, I wear it a couple of times a month and it goes on a winder for 2-3 days a month as well. You know, I had bad luck with seconds at 6 in the past. This one and a black widow daytona that ttk set up for me run fine. I've had the daytona about 9 months and it runs great and I use the chrono's on that as well. Go figure? concepta
Guys! You need to go Gen movement! The ingy deserves a strong heart! Some of these are super reps so its a shame the movements are the only weak point. PM me and i will give you a special "Ingyprice" on gen engines
