  2. Hey guys, There's been several questions floating around about "which model is that black SMP with those skinny hands?" and/or "which SMP is the black Bond SMP?". I decided to generate a brief reference guide for those new to the SMP. This guide helps put a face to most of the SMP models out there. I realise I haven't captured them all (like the Apnea), but this reference guide does a pretty good job at identifying the more common models and some of the ones that have been repped in the past. NOTE: Some of these models come in different bezel finishes and strap options, which of course tweak the model numbers. If I can free up some time, I'd like to add some more models to the thread and generate one of these for the Planet Ocean as well... Enjoy! 6. Avoid like the plague. The movement in mine totally crapped out...unfixable. Fit and finish total crap with this rep. Steel used looks dark and cheap vs my MBW.

  8. Congratulations are in order. I didn't mean to sound like a [censored] but I love vintage watches and I hate to see them bastardized. Hopefully your frankenwatch will give you the peace of mind you are searching for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. If you like custom, I think you will still want to mod it, afterall, no point in building from scratch when you can just mod an existing piece As before, I think it's an excellent illustration of what it would have looked like if Tudor had built the 79190 as a MilSub instead of a civilian release Thinking about it, there have been a few military issue GMTs with all blue bezel inserts, so I think fitting a blue insert when I 'enlist' mine will really be in keeping with that overall potential Infact, I might even put that all in my 5517 case and put the Snowflake dial in the 5513 case instead (both projects have to take a backseat to my plans to convert my 16610 to a 16800 )

  11. You have a great watch and as most here have said: leave it alone. Like they say, experience is something money can't buy. Enjoy the watch in good health.

  12. No, just nobody cares. That's a game my 7-year-old plays. Personally, I'm with the Zigmeister on the lume job. You took something that isn't made anymore and could never be replaced, and altered it. If you want to buy a 996 and modify it, go ahead. Porsche still runs the factories that make the parts, anything you want to change could be changed back. But don't buy a 356 and hack it up. There are fewer and fewer every year, and they're a piece of history now. If cost is no object, why destroy something irreplaceable when you can achieve exactly the same result using readily available parts?
