Regardless of your political persuasion, sadly, that is what happens when you leave your back door open (either to gain votes or to get cheap labor) & rely on the government to guard the doorway. I believe it was this understanding that the government is not a reliable protector of life or liberty that led the authors of the US Constitution to incorporate the citizens' right to keep & bear arms. I also believe, with this election, that the proverbial horse has now left the barn as far as the country goes. If everyone read - with an open mind - Barack Hussein Obama's 2 books, I think many opinions about our president would change.

Get advice from people that really know what they're talking about. Identify your investment goals and risk tolerance and choose accordingly. Commodities may or may not be a good investment, depends on your opinion of the China growth story chiefly. Same with equities, although right now I'm personally iffy on them given their potentially artificial value boost via QE. Really though, dumping more than 50% of your capital in any one asset class is probably not a great idea.
