Just 1 month until x-mas (OK, a little more), but thinking about this gets me in a good mood. So good, that I'm going to give away some free VIP and platinum memberships. All you need to to to participate, is post in this thread and you are included in the draw. I will also be giving away memberships for best post, describing why you like it so much here at RWG. And last, but not least, I will give away a free 1 year platinum membership to the member who makes the funnies post in this thread. This is of course completely up to me to judge, but I expect at least a "milk-spraying out of my nose-laughing"-post, to be considered as a winner. So you decide; Just make a simple post, post something funny or post why you like RWG. Either way, you can win some free memberships....2 points

Ever since you were young, you loved watches. Hard to say exactly why, but they've always meant something special for you. You still remember that watch your grandfather gave you on your 10th birthday, a simple Casio digital watch, that was so cool, It even had a stopwatch. As you grow older, you're cycling simple, cool watches - some G-Shocks, Swatch and even an analog Citizen. You're 21, cellphones are almost everywhere, you don't wear a wristwatch anymore. Who needs them? You still give the occasional glance at luxury watches' ads, and know that you want them. You also think that you'll never be stupid enough to spend that kind of money for them. Time goes by, you still pause for a second on the occasional ad you see, or as you pass by those luxurious stores, but you still know that you're never going to buy one. You're 27, going on a trip abroad with some friends. Walking in the streets you pass by an Omega boutique, and then your friend says something that's going to change a big part of your life, he says: "Let's go in for a second...". You're hooked. You know it's just a matter of time, but how can you afford it? You get back home, and you start thinking - Maybe there are good reps that you can somehow get. As usual. Google is your friend. You find some info, but it's seems fishy. Articles about the difference between AA and AAA, with links for purchase. You're trying to find a forum about rep watches, but what kind of people would deal with reps online? And then you find RWG.... Fast Forward 4 years - You're looking for your third gen, you're buying and selling reps, you're browsing RWG (and even those other forums) daily, looking for yet another "100% 1:1 AAA+ MADE FROM GENUINE" watch, and waiting for them to finally get that pearl right for crying out loud!!! This is just something I thought about today, how it all began.. felt like sharing, hope it made you think about you're beginning. PS - Not a native English "speaker", so please forgive any mistakes. PS 2 - That friend never bought a watch....2 points

For all you who have been around for a short time, here's what happens when you get into collecting. I've been around for a couple of years and find this hobby great fun and addicting. I've got my share of Gen's, but really enjoy finding the rep's that interest me. My photography sucks, but here's my fun stuff:1 point

A Rolex Daytona 6263-6265 declinaison 100% built by myself Long time I didn't post, I am really busy and screwed with buildings ad creations till 6 months This watch was built using only stock parts, It has been made as a versatile watch with many combinaison possibilities : regular bracelet, jubilee, steel bezel or regular bakelite or even a leater strap, no limit. Reworked DW case, chrono pushers and crown. Only mixed stock parts from various aftermarket suppliers. No gen parts, its possible to build a watch looking like a gen using only rep parts Movement : Hand winding A7750/21600bph with the sec. at 9 and 3-6-9 compax bridge, serviced and tweaked, keep a -7 sec/24H. I dont touch more, for me its good enough for a messy Chinese chrono movement. Perfect aligned subdial hands, perfect flawless ans smooth chrono fonctions with perfect hands alignement at zero when reset. Everything work perfect like the gen, no frozen hands, I didn't desactive the hack, this is usefull for these using the chrono fonctions. Gen owners would be happy to have a hack fonction on their V72. The watch is waterproofed, greased inside chrono pusher devices, greased tube and crown insides, sealed plexi and greased case back gasket The dial is relumed with matching hands and has a slight patina surface with slight yellowed subdials. Matching hands. Sternkreutz rounded plexi, give a domed design, this is correct according books showing this design in the seventies Full engraved case and caseback, slim case back for removed rotor, the regular bracelet is referenced 78350-19 and end links are 571. The jubilee 19mm comes from a Tudor watch, it is non engraved, I have installed a complete Rolex clasp, endlinks are 455B. enough blabla, enjoy photos Sorry for the dust on the plexi hope you liked,1 point

Jonny comes home from school early on hearing a noise upstairs goes up and sees his mum on top of his dad. He closes the door and goes back down stairs. His mother on hearing the door close jumps from the bed gets dressed and rushes downstairs. She asks Jonny if everything is okay to which he replies yes but what were you doing to dad. Well you know your dad has got a fat tummy I was bouncing up and down to flatten it. Jonny replies you are wasting your time Mum, when you go out the lady next door comes in and she blows it up again.......1 point

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cellular phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen. MAN: "Hello" WOMAN: "Hi Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?" MAN: "Yes." WOMAN: "I'm at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $2,000; is it OK if I buy it?" MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much." WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked." MAN: "How much?" WOMAN: "$90,000." ; MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options." WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing... I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $980,000 for it." MAN: "Well, then go ahead and make an offer of $900,000. They'll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it's what you really want." WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!" MAN: "Bye! I love you, too." The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in complete astonishment, mouths wide open. He turns and asks, "Anyone know whose phone is this ?1 point

I really <3 this watch - its a true thing of beauty and i'll be on the grail to get the gen for sure! However to start my journey i would love to have a true 1:1 version of this, will be awesome of they can do a hublot style rep quality on the pam292, throw in a few extras from DSN & Co that would be one mighty fine kettle! Just for your info. To replace 21j with 2836-2. -If 2836-2 is GEN ETA . Sure the minute , hores and seconds setams will be replaced with longet one. I hope you got GMT module. -If your 2836-2 Asia( GMT ) is from another Rep may be it need not new hands steams. I'm not sure the 21j hands can fit on ETA Sure the 21j feet will be cut out, and your dial will be glued. Wile............ I'm not sure the Date window is in the correct position,so, may be , you would take in count to replace dial too. One brass movement holder ring for eta is needed too. Sorry, but I suggest you to take in count to sale this and buy one right 1655.1 point

This Thread is a break-off from Neo's "In Search Of..." Thread that was copied here from RWGI... He had so many wonderful articles and pictures of New Models starting back in '04 forward... Thought it would be good to have them in there own Thread that we can add to as we come across new pieces... Enjoy, TwoTone1 point
