Andrew of Trusty Time has been a good friend for nearly a decade. I have purchased many watches from him and referred a multitude of business associates who like me lost their minds in a frenzy of collecting. HA! Sad but so true!! Andrew was following the raffle held for my benefit due to my illness, and he asked which watch I would like if I had to choose. The Panerai 372 was my response, and today it came in the mail. For those who put the guy down, he is a gem of a man. So are all the members here at RWG. The effort made on my behalf is nothing like any experience in my life. You guys don't even know me but accept me at face value, although my inner self is revealed through what I write, still it is a humbling and awesome experience. Saying thanks so many times seems repetitive, so in Hawaii we give thanks from the heart by saying, Mahalo Nui Loa.2 points

OK so I bought a Hangzhou 6460 GMT movement as a replacement for my broken ETA GMT. They say in their ebay ad “HANGZHOU makes the reliable 6460 GMT movement that is a clone of ETA 2836-2 GMT and a full replacement for SWISS MADE ETA 2836-2 GMT. Size and fitting is 100% accurate and it is a direct replacement. If your watch is broken or requires a new movement get this HANGZHOU 6460 GMT that will cost you less than a repair of your Swiss ETA 2836-2 GMT. You can even store your ETA 2836-2 GMT movement and use instead this reliable HANGZHOU 6460.” So I did the transplant of the movement into my GMT II case. Everything went well Until I tried to install the Seconds-hand. I just noticed the center pinion is not tall enough. So my ETA seconds-hand will not fit. So what can I do now? Either replace the center pinion or can I find a seconds-hand with a longer mounting sleeve? If so, who makes one? Here is a picture of the Hangzhou 6460 center pinion. As you can see, the pin height is below the minute hand gear. Thanks, Dave...1 point

I just sent a ROO to Rex. Seems very professional, and his work area looks very nice and well organized. He has a Facebook page. He does A7750 service, no jewel mods, AR and Lume I'll do a full write up on the RC ROO when it gets back home. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

The only way the makers can fix the date is to rework the dial for an A7753. I really doubt they would raise the dw on a normal 7750 tricompax. but then I could be proven wrong. Modding a dw could be cheaper than using 7753....1 point

The only thing that watch could result in is a mugging by thugs that don't know any better.1 point

Also try "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish" In my experience it has worked much better than Brasso and toothpaste.1 point

"Why does the trust have to only go one way?" because they got it and you want it. This being said I have posted many times we are our own enemy in regard to these matters, gotta have it no patience or discipline we lose. As far as movements dealers not cracking open case back to check movements so they order X movement send to you ,you get Y nature of the beast. OH and Pics /QC of movements never the guys would refuse 90% of the dirty stuff we get, service when you get it...............1 point

Trusted dealers have been around for years and do not do this kind of thing on purpose. If the original poster receive these watches by mistake, why tarnished the reputation of a trusted dealer over a mistake? If you read the hundreds of happy reviews and hang around a bit, you will see that this is true. Reputation is everything and they understand that. You don't just screw over people on the forums for a couple of watches. It doesn't make sense.1 point

Several members have asked me about my avatar and connection with the infamous and notorious bank robber from the 1930's, John Dillinger. Back... way back in the 1700's one of my relatives had an affair with a German, while visiting Frankfurt, from Finland. They produced a child , who emigrated to the USA and he married, had two girls and a son whose wife later gave birth in Indiana to John Herbert Dillinger. I felt no reason at all to disclose this info, but you guys here bring out the secrets in me for some odd reason. Perhaps it is the semi anonymous nature of the internet, even though it is easy to verify. or simply that one feels comfortable and among friends here at RWG. A truly great place to hang your hat and lean your Tommy gun against the wall.1 point
