  1. Yes as I was saying in the other thread you started, a gen or clone 3135 will likely not be an easy transplant. Your case does not have the milling on the internals that would support the holding of a 3135 movement and as mentioned above the dial and hands you have would not fit either. Even some of the truly high end reps cannot have a 3135 placed into them. We are not trying to be mean but the watch in the photos above is not a high end rep, from dial to SEL's to the movement inside all indicate a run of the mill one and it will almost certainly NOT fit a 3135. Just the diameter and height differences alone already show the issue you would face. The 3135 is wider and taller than the DG movement. If you are set on wanting a watch with a 3135 I would recommend you purchasing one of the new JF factory sub reps with the cone 3135 already inside and then if you want to swap for Gen its will truly be a simple swap and you would get to keep the dial and hands. To answer what exactly the movement you have it appears to be a Chinese DG2803. See the photo below for comparison. Chinese Automatic Movement DG2803 Ligne size 11.5, height 5.3, hand sizes 1.00/1.52/.17, functions: Day, Date, hour, minute, sweep. Compare these specs to the 3135 28.50 mm(12½ lignes) in diameter, 6.00 mm - height

  2. You aren’t really listening to some solid advice here dude... the movement looks like a Guangzhou DG movement of no real quality and as Sogeha said there is little to no chance of getting a 3135 to drop in. Even if you did the dial will not fit without modification, the date window may not align with the date wheel. Keep it as is and wear it... and buy a complete new high end rep from one of the Trusted Dealers.

  3. Hello I know it’s a big community here and someone definitely knows or even dealt with this guy called Ivan. I have seen his work and it is truly magnificent piece of work. I want to get in touch with him - but you would not find any information about him hence I want to ask if any of you know how to get in touch with him? Any info would be forever thankful

  4. Pretty sharp watch- now you just have to wear it for 20 years and let it age naturally!

  9. Here are the progress pics Parts next to donor watch. I pulled the 1016 apart for the movement The 1016 dial and hands are available if anyone is looking for a nicely aged look. I think I’m gonna hold onto the ver 1 JMB CASE as I think I may want to build a pre explorer bubble back down the road. Waffle dial is on a Rolex plate so I had to snip the feet and use dial dots. Fit the dial to movement Fit hands These were a snug fit. The minute hand popped off twice. Never had that happen before. A bit of persuasion and I got them on Aged the lume on dial and hands. Hands are ever so slightly lighter but I’m cool with it. I really like these sub hands as they are uncommon from the typical Merc hand set. The seconds hand with the pip at the end looks great as it goes around the chapter ring. Dropped it into the case and buttoned it up and she’s done !! Ain’t she a beauty. [emoji7][emoji7] Love how the dial captures the light. Fit to a rivet bracelet and it’s done !!! A few minor adjustments needed. The dial is ever so slightly off center. And the hands aren’t lined up perfectly but I’ll make those adjustments later. Today I am just armoured with the watch The thicker bezel and domed crystal really give the feeling of an older piece and you can see the lineage of the bubble back in its appearance. Absolutely thrilled with how this build came together. Big thanks to JMB For the case set and to the forum. This community is a great resource for allowing us to get our hands on and enjoy incredibly rare time pieces such as this The 6350 Explorer is the first of line and being named so after the successful climb of Mt Everest. Rolex really designed and built a looker in this reference. The dial. The hands. Just a harmonious combination of design elements in a pure tool watch with great heritage. These pieces are incredibly rare as a small number were made. Because is that. In today’s market. The 6350., depending on condition will trade for 50-80 thousand USD. i know own one for a fraction of that price. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for the read and as always. Questions and comments welcome. Cheers [emoji482]

  10. Some of the other guys will be along shortly to identify your movement. I am not a watch smith and I don’t want to make an ass of myself (again). I do know the plastic movement spacer isn’t something seen on high end reps and also your case has no machining to allow fitment of Rolex style movement clamps and screws. This and possible problems with stem height and having to change the hands and dial make me believe that it would be less painful and more economical to buy a new watch

  12. He definitely exists. I know 2 people that dealt with him, saw the dials and the email conversations. Maybe more people will have something to say.
