  2. yeah...............right!!! JTB
  3. Tight cuffed shirt today so I excavated the Movado from the bottom of one of my boxes. It's slim and a fairly small face and doesn't catch on the cuff of my shirt. JTB
  4. Nice watch but I don't think I could ever get used to the dial positioning. JTB
  5. What kiddie porn charges? No charges placed and no conviction made. He was arrested for viewing a web-site with under age content. No court case followed but he was cautioned and mandatorily placed on the sex offenders list. The British police are not in the habit of letting anti-establishment rock stars "get away" with something as pernicious as child sex offences - in the full glare of public and media scrutiny. The agreement with Townshend was to give him an official caution - in which the person ackowledges that he/she has engaged in unwise activities (but NOT criminal activity - or else he/she would have been charged) and the person undertakes to use better judgement in the future. A mandatory requirement of accepting the caution is placement on a list of those who HAVE committed offences - even though you haven't. It's like someone being given a mild punishment for having been close to doing something wrong by being made to stand in the corner with those who actually HAVE done something wrong - and been committed of such an act. 6. Don, It'll be getting fired on in the car on the way home! So anybody that sees a red Peugout swerving all over the road on the A92 will know why. JTB

  9. He was only preserving my true identity Mish Moneypenny. JTB
  10. I don't plan on keeping the thread alive forever. He has no qualms about working on reps and I'm just trying to help a few fellow and local members. Your point is fair though and I only plan on keeping this thread active for a few days and then..............zip! JTB
  11. Rubbery just rubbery. Seriously though Clive, that is one mighty fine specimen there. Many thanks for sharing it with us. JTB
  12. For those among the Scottish and possibly UK contingent who are looking for a reliable and excellent repair man, may I recommend Michael Swift. http://www.michaelswift.co.uk/ I got to know Michael some 20 years ago when he had premises in Dumbarton and he has worked on a number of watches (including reps) for me. He now has a small shop on the Isle of Bute off the west coast and still does repairs. I have to say he's not one for "modifications" - not his bag, so please don't send your latest 196 to him for a relume. Excellent for servicing 7750s etc at very good prices but best to contact him by email first as he has a lengthy backlog of work. If you do contact him please inform him that John Corcoran recommended him to you. JTB
  13. Got to say I love it. I used to have a T610 years ago and found it a bit fiddly but they've improved the style no end. It's quite a solid built phone as well and unlike some people I like the part rubberised case. People do drop these things and I truly believe this one has a greater chance of surviving should that happen. Camera is great although needs resetting for different scenarios and I suppose that's what you have to do with cameras anyway! however, typically the settings never seem to be set right for that quick shot you want. Anyways musn't forget it's a phone and it does everything I need it to. JTB
  14. I remembered the whole hoo-ha about them a couple of years ago but yeah I think if you google "Norwegian" + "bad taste", they'll be in the top 5 I guess. JTB
  15. Stuff it I'm carrying on as normal. That way I'll know the winner of the 2.30 at Doncaster tomorrow an hour before the race runs! JTB
  16. Impatience isn't the word for it. All this hanging around. I knew I just had to have it when I saw it. But now I've got to wait... ....Just one more day... ...and I'll have it ... ...in my grubby hands. Don't you just hate it? I've longed for this for so long. I think I'm going insane. What am I talking about? I hear you ask. Well... It's Endless Wire which is the first studio album since 1982 by the greatest rock band on the planet...The Who! and it's out tomorrow. YEE HA! JTB
  17. Nope gotta disagree Gunnar. When it comes to bad taste these fine upstanding Norwegian chaps come top of the list: http://www.talibanairways.com/ JTB
  18. The Mitchell Library in Glasgow has some of the best information for tracing family history. This library is claimed to be the largest public deposit library in Europe and has extensive resources for finding out about Scottish history and all things geneological. Have a look at the website here: http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/Lib...themitchell.htm You can also get a virtual guide of the library from the comfort of your own chair here: http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/virtualmitchell/ Have a look at this page also: http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/Lib.../FamilyHistory/ On top of that the main resource for geneology is the Strathclyde Geneology Center Strathclyde Area Genealogy Centre 22 Park Circus Glasgow G3 6BE Phone: 0141 287 8364 You can get details about it here: http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/Bir...enealogyCentre/ There is a £13.00 charge but it is excellent value. Best be armed with as much information as you can (i.e. birth certificates etc.) before you use this facility. Good luck and let us know when you plan to be in God's country and we can maybe arrange a gtg with our growing band of Scots members. JTB
