  1. Honestly I don't know how some people think, my neighbor who knows that I live in a nice house, in a nice area, and that i drive a nice car, remarked to me one day that she just assumed that all my watches were fakes!

Huh? Why would she assume that? She just assumed that my Moon watch, IWC port chrono, and other watches... All gen..... were Reps? To this day I have no idea why.

Oh I am considering a rep IWC top gun........ :-)

  2. I spend quite a lot of time here reading about this and that watch.... But I've always bought gen watches, partly because I always wanted an IWC port chrono but the reps have difficulty doing that seconds hand at 6 o'clock thing... So I bought the gen in the end.

But I have lots of respect for the guys here because...It seems to me that the guys here in rep land actually appriciate the effort that goes into a watch more then in gen land, mainly cause if I buy a gen I just expect it to work and if it breaks I take it back to the dealer, while in rep land you guys expect the watches to be not perfect and it's normal to take it apart and fix various things in it, and in doing so you gain a larger appreciation for the art of watch making. No one in gen land ever talks about how nice and even a lume job is, or who does great AR. It is just expected to be so.

Like the whole discussion about putting graphite into the movement of a rep IWC port chrono to get it's reliability up. That's interesting!

    Just my 2 cents

  3. I am also interested in a getting a "cheap" Asian Tourbillon since the swiss ones are like $150K, I saw a very nice Omega Tourbillon in the Omega shop just the other day and that's raised an interest in getting a seagull one again.

Any other recommendations? Anyone got a nice IWC Tourbillon ?

  4. Can I please ask your opinions on this watch:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250507985771&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_1763wt_959

Now to me it looks very real as:

1)The dial spacing looks right and the dial is generally correct looking

2)the crystal has the little omega symbol on it.

    But:

The eagle print on the back doesn't look as glossy as I have seen from other photos

And I don't know why the seller would hide the serial numbers if it's a real watch.

    What do you guys think?
