Hmm yes it does indeed. Such a shame as that would really make it. I shake like mad so doing that mad would be almost impossible. Damn tremorI just ordered the latest CHS NOOB version.... QC pics are here: https://goo.gl/photos/z72ehdvvfieLYQEh8 . Looks like there are still issues with the 18/6, but I can live with it. Hoping a little tinkering with metal putty and the sharpie technique gets rid of it.

Does Andrews version still have an issue with the 18/6 on the bezel. Hard to tell from your pics

GMT Batman examples?
Hi All
It's been a while since I've been on here. I took an extended break from reps, actually to build up my gen collection. Now I've got the bug for the GMT Batman and fancy getting a rep to see if its something I fancy going all in on. I've had a look on trustys site and he seems to have a couple of versions. I've used him for years so trust his service. The search function isn't being that rewarding at the moment but has anyone purchased one recently, what did you go for? Any pics? Ta in advance

Cheers guys

Hi guys
I'm modding a seiko skx007 at the moment. Everything has been replaced with custom bits.
What considerations should I make when installing the new movement? It's a date movement so do you have to do something special with the date before I set the hands for example? I clearly don't want the date changing at the wrong time.
How do I approach this?
-
Agreed machete. The off white in certain light does not look great in my eyes. Other light you can't notice but it does bother me
-
Hike - that sounds like someone talking from experience
-
I think the hands are a giveaway personally. In certain light they just don't look right in my opinion
-
How can I get me one of these with the missus finding out
I'll get shot. This and the AP Diver I really need to buy! These posts are a tease
-
Mine came on croc rep but it standard quality. I always change the straps
-
-
No it's a bob aviator strap
-
You could do that yeah. I used a video hosting site and I steered it using IMG tags. Either woks IIRC
That's meant to say inserted. Damn predictive.
-
Ha tell me about it. I dreamt of hair springs last night. Not even my imagination would let me believe I'd managed to seat it properly. Charming.
I'll try again tonight but if you get a chance of that video I'd be immensely grateful
-
A video would be amazing mate. I've tried for two hours straight and going to shoot myself if I can't do this haha. It's soooo stressful. I desperately want it to run
-
Yeah I think this is the issue on both (that spring still needs replacing though). I can't seat the mainspring properly on either. I managed to get it going correctly and just before I placed the bridge I knocked it and that was it. Arghhhh. I'm never going to manage this. Is there a trick to getting it in? I've been looking for videos but can't find anything. I did wind before placing it but I'm finding it hard to align the jewel stone with the pallet when I do that
-
Yeah that thing
The other issue is I think I'm just having a problem installing the hairspring properly. I've been working on another 6497 movement this evening and am having the same issue. I can't install the hairspring so that it swing freely. Maybe I'm just not getting it seated properly?
-
I've just realised what the issue is. The clamp for the balance jewel is broken so not holding it in properly. If I apply a small amount of pressure to the jewel the hairspring moves freely.
Can you buy the clamps or is that the base plate ruined?
-
Seems like the hairspring is turning properly even with a blow of air. It's like something is stopping it. Resistance from somewhere
-
The main spring is brand new. I bought it as a complete set. I'll triple check but it all seemed ok in inspection.
-
So, I completely tore it down again today. New main spring fitted and new pallet bridge.
Now it runs again but the hairspring only moves in very short swings. Any ideas?

Agreed. I prefer the classic models. For me IWC is about simplicity. Bling is not my kinda thing
