  1. HI Guys, I have a Slevin on the bracelet which has been sitting in a drawer for a long time due to a botched lume job. Would love to get this fixed and back in the rotation. I have spoken to a few re-lumers who have advised that removing the lume from the bezel is near impossible and I should try and source a new bezel. As far as I'm aware obtaining spares for these is nigh on impossible. I was wondering if anyone has either a spare Slevin bezel or an idea on where I could possibly get one. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. J
  2. Excellent Review Vandal. I've ordered one now, couoldnt help myself :-) Just got my QC pics and the bezel doesnt seem to line up with some of the dial markers, particularly from 15 minutes to 35 minutes. I noticed yours also appears to have this issue, can you please confirm if its just because the crystal is so thick or is actually an issue? My QC pic attached below:
  3. Check out this PAM from ebay in Oz (who loses their Gen PAM box and cards???) hxxp://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=300229365620&Category=111652&_trksid=p3907.m29
  4. I just found this thread (looked for one like it for hours before i posted) http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...asian+swan+neck so its definately not swiss. I bought on ioffer (my first purchase from a non board recommended dealer) for $305. What would a watch like this with an asian 6497 be worth? I am going to ask the dealer to issue me with a refund and by my estimation it should be in the order of $100. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks everyone
  5. I bought my first Pam the other day, a Luminor 111H. Took the caseback off today and cannot find an ETA stamp. It was sold as Swiss and i'm wondering if our resident experts can chime in and tell me if its asian or swiss and what are the tells. Are there any Unitas that arent stamped? Thanks in advance
  6. Hey Everyone, Received a Datejust yesterday for my Mum (from a trusted site dealer), opened it up and found the caseback engraved with the dreaded 'Gelena Shitinerand' and numerous other strange ramblings. The watch actually looks quite nice and has an ETA 2671 and also wasnt cheap. Just wondering if the fact that the watch contains the famous phrase "Shitinerand" means that the watch is a $3 rep or is this common among the ladies rolex reps? Is this a bad sign?
  7. OK, to clarify further, Jay has the 06 Costeau for $275 whereas the Slevin is $360. Other dealers sell the 06 Costeau for more hence the difference is less. I should have been more specific.
  8. Looking at getting a new Slevin and just wondering why the Slevin costs so much more than the Costeau 06 and 07. At all the dealer sites i've looked at its almost $100 more. From all the reviews i've read they are all good watches but all variations have there own flaws. Anyone have any ideas?
  9. Sorry for taking so long to take photos and get this issue finalised after all. Attached are two pics of my movement. Let me know if you need to see something i didnt shoot and i'll take more. The compact i was using wouldnt zoom in close enough to see the markings etc properly. Its so much easier now i have an SLR to get good closeups :-)
  10. Sorry for not getting back earlier guys @ Chief and The Zigmeister I realised after posting this thread that it would technically be impossible for the balance wheel not to have spokes (without some elaborate magnetic field type setup ) But i was merely looking at the differences in the photo's from PAM111's pic and my movement. I'll take some photos tonight and upload asap. The ETA stamp is about 3/4 covered by the balance wheel in my watch, not just the edge like on the swiss. If it turns out my movement is Swiss after all, i'll be over the moon, but i doubt that it is at this stage. Thanks everyone.
  11. Hello Everyone, http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...;hl=PO+movement http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...081&hl=2836 After reading these two posts and checking out the photo's of the Asian clone 2836-2 on PAM111's site, i decided to open up my PO and check whether or not the movement is swiss as advertised on Silix site. My movement has the following flaws; 1) The ETA stamp is half covered by the Balance wheel 2) No "DM" Stamp 3) The balance wheel has spokes (the ETA doesnt) As a disclaimer, Silix is my favorite dealer and i absolutely love my PO, it runs very well and almost dead on accurate but the movement on his site is listed as "Swiss ETA 2836-2". Has anyone else checked the movement in their PO's? Is it just a bad batch that came through with the asian clone movement or are all Silix PO's got asian clones in them. I cant complain about the price or quality of the watch, my concern is more that the watch doesnt have the movement in it that we paid for. What do you guys think?
  12. Silix will supply you with a replacement insert for $25. Not sure if that includes shipping or not. My SMP Chrono came with an extremely loose insert (i.e it fell off) so realigning it was easy. My bezel click around nicely with plent of resistance just like the gen.
  13. Thanks for the info - Lucky i asked
  14. Thanks guys, Whats the canon pin and also what are the series you are talking about, dont tell me apart from the different model numbers there's more to know :-)
