  1. Hi guys,

I was looking at the Serie Speciele Navitimer on Perfect clone's site, at link  -      /bl10034-navitimer-serie-speciale-black-dial-working-chronos-p-1693.html

Does anyone knows what type case this one has ?

I'm thinking of doing a franken navitimer (using a gen 7750 movement, hands and dial )

would the gen parts fit in there ? (mainly movement and dial - hands should fit on a swiss 7750 as much as I remember)

Any help will be so much appreciated :)

    thanks!

  2. Hi Guys,

I don't have any IWC reps right now, actually lately I've been wearing my gen Oris artelier big date.

I've came across a rep IWC Portuguese 7 days PR rep that is about $105 including shipping, it has the seagull movement (not sure if the one with the skeletonzied rotor or not - anyway the movement is not per gen).

What do you think about the looks ?  is it worth buying ? as much as i'm aware, the "standard" reps such as this, are usually all from the same factory with the same pros and cons no matter who is the dealer (correct me if i'm wrong)

I've attached two photos of the rep.

I've love to see your opinions.

    Thanks in advance :)

  3. It's a scam.

a genuine ETA 7750 movement alone costs about $400-500.

also - the swiss movement for a tricompax layout should be the 7753, not a 7750.

some dealers are trying to pump up their sales using the "swiss movement" sales speech cause they know people are looking for reps with "swiss" movements.

  4. I have installed gen gasket on a BP GMT IIc and it worked fine, both with rep and gen bezel retaining rings.

Gen gasket doesn't work on a BP Sub C because the BP sub-c retaining ring has a larger ID than gen. I imagine a gen bezel with retaining ring would work fine with gen gasket.

    ---

The sub that's pictured in that link almost certainly won't take gen anything.

    ---

This "adding two posts together" thing is annoying, I posted two different posts because I wanted to.

Thanks for the reply sneed !

so does a BP sub\gmt rep is a better choice for accepting gen parts (e.g. crown, tube, insert, dial ) right out-the-box ?

    Cheers!

    Db :)

  5. Depends on the sub maker.  For example, a TC Submariner case won't accept a genuine tube, and needs to be tapped M3 .25

Thanks for the quick response and vaulable info mate, I'll check out the link :)

I also remember that when I've had my parts (for the daytona project which never took off) - I've got a small tool to screw the gen tube with (it was a "T" tool which) - do you know if these are still available ?

    Many thanks!

  6. Hi friends,

It's been awhile since i've dealt with sourcing parts or trying to mod anything. I'm now feeling like buying a sub or a gmt master rep and mod it with some gen parts.

(Used to have a secs@9 daytona two years ago, which I've wanted to mod - already had the gen crown, tube and pushers, eventually ended up selling all of the parts and the watch due to the lack of time)

What's the correct tap to use for a gen tube fit for a modern submariner \ gmt-master  ?

(they both have the same tube if i'm not mistaken ? and I haven't decided yet about which one i'm gonna get and mod)

and I'd be glad to know if any member of rwg is selling them, I'd better buy from him than someone else :)

    Many thanks!

  7. Hi guys,

following the description on one of Trusty's listings:

    http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=10893&zenid=158642ddbadfb457ca51a119b242ff00

"External Dimension is 1 : 1 against the Genuine... All External Parts are interchangeable with Genuine...."

The same description can be seen on the GMT master rep listing.

    Is it legit ?

e.g. could I fit a gen crown and tube without re-tapping and without doing any adjustments ? how about a bezel assembly ? or a gen dial , crystal etc..

(The plan is to buy the rep with an asian ETA, and fit gen tube+crown, gen bezel assembly+insert, gen dial and maybe also gen crystal later on )

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Many thanks!

  8. @gasdoc

I've made a thread on the same subject as you do  about 6 month ago (trying to make\source a gen DW for my tricompax navi) - there are no scans of a tricompax DW available anywhere. I've got my hands on a breit 7750 DW scan - and have tried to rotate the first 9 digits - but the result is not professional enough (and i'm not sure if the font is %100 same as the tricompax navi)

any luck on your side ?

  9. I love your review and I love the photography (great macro photos), wear it in good health mate ;)

    @whoever

about the language on the day disc,

I think (not %100 sure) that the seiko "5" was later on started being producted for specific markets so they have adjusted the day disc with the correct language per market producted (you can find many vintage watches with various of date\month languages such as : german, spanish, chinese, etc..)

  10. Hi mates,

I was wondering, does a rep of the A.Lange Sohne - Lange 1 watch exists ?

I've seen some photos, and I was wondering if the dial (big date, hour and minute hands, power reserve hand) was functioning or was that an al cheapo rep or photoshoped photo ?

Here's an example link (dont know the website - just using the pic)

    What do you think?

    Cheers,
