The LV Sub (16610) from TC (or the WM9 for that matter) does not have polished center links, nor does the gen. Gen LV inserts are hard to find and very expensive when you do. If you want polished center links then you need to look at a Yacht Master, or the two-tone Subs.

If your friends have gen DateJusts then you'll need to buy/build a franken with gen parts. While good, the DateJust reps aren't good enough to survive someone holding both in their hands and looking at them. With friends, that will happen. Personally, I'd go for the BK or TC Sub (non-LV) with a gen insert in this case if I were the OP.

The case is 50mm lug to lug. My wrist is 6.75" if it helps.

Hamilton has several in their Khaki Aviation Pilot series that would fit the bill. Could also look at Archimede, Laco, Sinn and Damasko. If you want to go vintage, look at Laco, and Longines.

Not entirely true. You could damage the movement to the point where it can't be fixed, or it would be cost prohibitive to do so. Then you'd need to buy a new movement, and probably want get it serviced anyway just to be safe. Then you're paying double, so imagine your girlfriend has twins. If you had done some movement work previously, I'd say go for it. The 7750 just isn't the starter project IMO.

The A7750 is not a movement that should be attempted to be serviced by anyone just starting out working on movements. To take this movement apart, clean it, replace any worn parts and reassemble with the proper oils is not something that can be done properly by anyone on a whim. I'm all for 'going under the hood and looking around' but if you truly want to learn how to service a movement, you'd be better off starting with a 6497. The hands can be broached when too small, or crimped when too large. Again something that should be done by someone who has experience in doing it. Getting replacement hands for the Asain movements once you've ruined a set can be problematic, if not impossible. The other option is to try to find gen hands for the 7750 based reps. They will normally fit without modifications. Also, if your rep originally came with the older style A7750 then they will also fit without modding.

You have four choices (in order of likely cost): 1) Purchase another A7750 and swap it. 2) Service the existing movement 3) Buy a new watch. 4) Purchase an ETA 7750 and swap it. This order assumes you can do the movement swap yourself. Personally, I would take option #2 and get your current movement serviced. The A7750 is a great movement once serviced. It comes from the factory a little dry normally, which can cause issues.

If you want a modded 3717, go to Vac. If you want a franken 3717 (w/ gen parts), go to Concepta or Texski.

You need to buy the Clark hands for your movement, not the gen movement. As an alternative, you can also buy gen Tudor hands, as the Tudors use an ETA movement. I don't think you can purchase the A3135 on it's own at the moment, you have to get it in a watch. From what I've been told, the A3135 will fit in the genuine 162xx series cases, but not the older 160xx cases. Not sure on fitment in a rep case. Regardless, the newer version of the A3135 is supposed to take gen hands. Also, ou do not buy an acrylic crystal for a 162xx DateJust. They have saphire crystals. The older 160xx series DateJusts have the acrylic crystals. JMB builds most of his frankens using rep cases, so he's probably the best source of information.

Unless you are planning to disassemble the watch and sell off the dial later, does it really matter? I could understand it if was a rare dial that brought tons of cash in the resale market, but in the case of a DateJust dial, not so much of a worry. I'm in the middle of a DJ build myself right now, and haven't given it a thought.

White Lightning is also my choice. Same procedure as everyone else has mentioned. Does the job well, and lasts a long time.

One could argue that Lionel Messi plays real football ... and everyone else is just kidding themselves ... It is far easier to 'yawn' watching football than it is to watch CFB or NFL games on this side of the pond. It would be great to see them do away with all the pads/helmets over here. Then we could also get to see all the flopping around on the ground that happens when players barely get touched. It's comical really, and even diehard football fans have to admit it. All joking aside, despite being American I have an appreciation for both forms of football and still hope to see an EPL game live someday. I tend to follow the teams that have American players more closely, but my early morning weekends are normally spent catching a game or two on Fox Soccer Channel, and I do go to the occassional MLS game.

At 6.75" for me, anything over 44mm looks too big. I can wear down to a 36mm, but mostly stay in the 40mm-42mm range. For you, I'd guess a DateJust, Submariner, IWC 3717 and MKVI, Omega 42mm PO, Breitling SFSO (among others) would all work. It's not just case width that matters with small wrists either. Case height is important too. I think the square B&R models look wrong on me, so I'm not sure how they would play on a smaller wrist. Not a fan of Hublot, so never tried one on. And yes, UBoat and Graham are probably out ...

you will be around $250-$300 for datwheels, lume and AR for the crystal (including labor). And you'll end up looking somewhat like this ...

Go with the 3717. The A7750 movements are fine. The v3 (current version) is a very good rep out of the box, and a couple of small mods makes it great. Plenty of threads/support on modding them. Plus, as ademarco said, there are a couple of sources for gen parts if you want to go that far.

Might want to PM concepta or texski. They both do franken IWC builds and have access to gen parts.

Interesting. The Taka crystal fit perfectly on my v1 case. You could also get the existing crystal AR'd as another option and sell off the Taka to help cover the cost.

doesn't really matter. The original reply was correct. Subdial spacing on the rep is way off, so you'd have to find a genuine movement to match the dial, and it won't fit in the rep case.
