  1. wow ... that's one fugly POS ...
  2. Just finished 'The 4-Hour Body' by Tim Ferris. Great, but long, read for those folks interested in learning more about how your inner workings actually work.
  3. My Taka crystal fits perfectly as far as I can tell, although I didn't install it myself. I did not send anything other than the crystal to Vac, and he did not report any issues.
  4. Do those and you'll end up with something like this ... Lume by Vac ...
  5. Chief did one with a 2892 ... perhaps he has some insight. The taller CP was mentioned in Stilty's 'Birth of a Franken' post on the ETA 2824 ... not sure if it applies to the 2892 ... I still wish he would have finished the series, as Part 1 was great insight into building these.
  6. Rolex Sub for me ... seeing the BK WM9's did it for me. Now have the LV, and doubt I'll part with it.
  7. Insert, Dial and Hands are all different from the standard Sub. Best thing to do would be wait for the WM9 LV to show up in the sales section, or talk to BK and see what he can do for you with his TW Sub. This is the BK WM9 LV. It's not for sale though ...
  8. Lange 1: Once I acquire that one, I'm sure I'll just pick another ...
  9. +1 Although the OP will never be able to find a BK WM9 in his $400 budget ... even v1 or v2. Now that WM9 is gone, they certainly aren't losing value like most reps do.

  11. Tom Horn was a semi-famous lawman and outlaw in the old west here in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Horn Long story behind why I chose it, but I will leave it at he was ultimately hanged for a murder he likely didn't commit, which I can relate to a bit ...
  12. My pic above is of the Taka crystal. The first pic was shot with a very bright spotlight directly over the watch and no filter. The AR is excellent and matches the gen AR pretty well. Have had no scratching issues, but then again I am not all that tough on my watches.

  14. I don't know Chief ... they always seemed to be popular around here anyway ... IMO still one of the most accurate reps ever made.
  15. If you can't get into Chief's AR run, the next best thing is to order the Taka crystal. Then send to Vac for the install, lume and DW swap. You'll end up with something like this ...
  16. Doesn't meet all the requirements, but you can't go wrong with a 3717. on my 6.75" wrist
  17. Looks like Hublot wanted to make sure they one-upped Rolex ... hxxp://www.luxist.com/2011/04/19/hublot-big-bang-leopard-watch/
  18. I had a similar issue (wonky crown) and the dealer I bought the watch from located a replacement for me.
  19. I go to Vegas every year for my birthday ...
  20. Not to poke a hole in your guy's theory By-Tor, but I lost 53lbs by not changing my diet (just eating slightly smaller portions) and running 10-15 miles a week. Not a single weight was lifted, and no 'roids taken. Having said that, I am now strength training 3x a week because running is boring sometimes, but not to lose weight.
  21. My real estate agent friend has the 40mm with the slate blue dial. I am not much on model numbers for PAMs, but I think it's a 119. Looks great on her though ...
  22. I use White Lightning Clean Ride. Works wonders on all bracelets. http://www.whitelightningco.com/products/index.htm
  23. Is the gen crown slightly larger than the rep crown? I was able to pick up a gen IWC crown (seller didn't know if it was for a 3717) but it looks larger than the rep so I have not installed it yet.
  24. Hopefully will finish collecting parts for the Datejust build this year, and perhaps for the v72 6265 (finding a v72 at a decent price is brutal). I'm also certain I will continue modding my 3717. On the gen side, I am still trying to find a Damasko DC56.
