  1. Just got a new SW in SS and yellow dial and it is awesome however, the dial rotates slightly when the date is changed; weird? Any ideas what would cause that? Fix it or send it back? Thoughts thanks,

That's peculiar :g: How is it possible for a fixed - on the movement - dial to rotate??? Any pics available??

  2. I faced exactly the same problem almost a year ago with my BCE...I had also posted something with a lot of responses that helped me a lot JuniorNA but there is no need to go back to old threads for a matter that can be solved right on this thread you opened :) So...... In my opinion and according to the experience i gained so far you should not alter the angle in which the watch is placed on the winder...The default one should be just fine...The watch winder should be adjusted to working in CW direction and definitely NOT CCW!!! What Shundi said about TPDs is correct so what you must also do is reduce the interval between winding operations from 3 hours that is now to 1 and a half hour! My winder works for ten minutes every 1 and a half hour and the results are miraculous! It was left for a month on the winder and it kept perfect time....! I think by following my advice you will solve this problem (it is indeed a great problem having your watch's date and time adjusted every now and then :( ) Try it and let me know JuniorNA ;) I hope i helped...

  3. Was it this watch.....

No Dizz, you must have seen the new 2009 Bentley by now....

The CEO of Breitling must have been hit by double heart attack and triple brainstorm after looking at the pics you posted...Watches for "my little pony" enthusiasts!!!!:rofl:

  4. Stick with our dealers and you won't be disappointed! Even if you get disappointed (though this option is rare, it is part of the game) there is always good mood to find a solution to the problem that emerged...! Have a good time and read what the people in this forum have written...Most of the times their opinion and experiences save you a lot of money and trouble (from every aspect)! ;)

  5. Hi I'm new. I would like to know the name/make of the third watch in this picture.

    index_16.gif

im pretty sure the pros on here will know right off the bat!

Also if there's any recommendations on watches similar to the Chanel j12 black version?

    Thanks.

The third watch is definitely a Seiko Velatura Kinetic Direct Drive. Find it in the following address --> http://www.seikowatches.com/products/velat...kinetic_dd.html

  6. Unless, of course, B decides to keep the subdial spacing the same or very similar to the 7750...

That would be the ideal case...but when something critical (such as a mvt) changes lots of accompanying things change...Time will show ;)

I don't understand where "Breitling has balls" comment comes from. Does it take balls to either innovate your company, or die at the hands of a competitor controlling your movement supply.

Also - 70 hour power reserve! Bitchin!

You are right Fidestro but don't forget that innovations and upgrades take their cost and sometimes an ambitious company - or a company that respects itself and wants to stand face to face with the competition - doesn't get back but a portion of the initial capital it invested  This move Breitling just made is certainly "a great step for the company and a small step for the potential buyers" which will be judged by several other factors such as price fixing! If watches based on the new movement are far more expensive than current watches with "Valjouxes" then it's starting to lose the game and the competitive advantage it gained with the release of its new mvt...Just thoughts...Again time will show! ;)

  7. The reason the large/regular seconds hand is used in the chrono is because it is easier to see, when used as a chrono. Especially for those far-sighted or bi-focal challenged individuals.

True, most people don't buy chrono's as chrono's. But, in aviation, racing (Daytona), etc, they do serve their purpose. Especially the Tachymeter for calculating speed.

    -Ronin

Actually it's because a longer hand is more accurate for reading elapsed time. 5 seconds on a subdial measures about 2 or 3mm, but on the outside of the dial the same amount of time cover almost a full cm. The longer the hand the easier it is to measure the interval. More crucial when timing an event than for general timekeeping.

After all this fuss about chrono pushers, long and short and tiny hands i would like to ask an almost silly question: How could i use the "TACHYMETRE" on the rehaut of my BCE....That was a question i always wanted to make but i was afraid of being characterized completely NOOB :whistling: Does someone know (maybe Andreww)??

  8. Things you learn! Ignore my previous post then. :p

@ Toadtorrent: No problem Toadtorrent your advice is always a great contribution and your guide is something that has saved me from a lot of mistakes...Iknew about the chronos cause i have the same watch :D :D

@ Wantareplica: Just take care of your watch and enjoy it in health!!

  9. BTW...the chrono pushers I don't believe are screw in on the BCE...only the crown...you just have to push them.

    Ignore previous post...My mistake :(

Well in fact they are...He must unscrew them both if he wants to operate the chronos! But it's something easy that he won't have a problem in executing biggrin.gif

  10. ok, so the crown is not stuck. i was able to change the time and date, however after winding the watch for like 5 minutes i was still unable to make the regular seconds hand move while the "seconds @ 9" are moving fine and the regular minutes hand responds to it. im guessing im sending it back :(

The regular seconds hand that you refer to is the one with "B" mark on its tail??? If yes this is the chrono seconds hand and in order to start it you should first read Toadtorrent's guide :D and then unscrew the top up button of your watch and press it so as to release the chrono gears and set it in function!! BUT read first the guide cause you must know how to stop the chrono in order not to jam the watch (sometimes this happens, too)!

  11. People are cutting down on things of everyday use and first priority, let alone watch servicing and maintenance which do not exist even as thoughts! A friend of mine is a great watch fan but due to the economic crisis he was not able to buy the watch he had in mind...so when his father-in-law asked him what is that he desires the most as a gift before the upcoming wedding he grabbed the opportunity and he answered without hesitation...a Tissot Touch watch ;) So only a marriage saves us during the economic crisis! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  12. for me, the whole point of having a rep is enjoying something that is beautiful, but would otherwise be inaccessible to me. It's not about representing myself to others, it's about my enjoyment of a piece regardless of its price. I find that the broad majority of people here enjoy a piece for its intricacy and passion, and whether or not some j-hole would judge me for wearing a timepiece that is supposedly out of my range is irrelevant. Of course, discretion is a skill and a virtue, but so too is passion and joy for any timepiece, so I stick to one prime law: appreciate the intricacy and beauty of a thing first and foremost.

Could not be said in a better way!! +1 for me and it was taken from my mouth :p

  13. This shows that this company has balls...It defies a whole status quo by making its own movement (but it's not the only company doing this)! The problem though from now on is that rep factories will have to adapt their replication techniques around the new movement (when a watch with that mvt comes out), otherwise the new rep production will be a dead give away, if it's based on the old Valjoux mvt  Correct me if i'm wrong...!
