  1. Maybe they were more expensive? Or maybe he doesn't beleive all the hype about only trusted dealers can supply you high grade watches. Or simply he cut a deal with seller to give it a review on here. Surely it's his business where he buys from and why should he need to explain his reasons

  2. Yes I would think they use dummy watches like they do with the mobile phones. It can't be a replica if it's made by Rolex themselves! That said I saw a link for an auction with bits and peices of Rolex shop window dressing and the prices they fetched were incredible so the dummy watches in the Rolex display could be worth more than the real thing at auction

  3. Some of the wholesalers in the East end around Middlesex street have them whether they sell them to you is a different matter. It's a serious offense in UK to sell reps and the trading standards office police it vigorously. In any event don't expect any bargains. Your better off buying online

  4. The best levis copies and lacoste have always come from Italy and Turkey. Many years ago almost 30 in fact we used to bring copy Rolex and Cartier from Italy to sell in the UK they were as good or better than the copies we see today with actual swiss movements and also in solid gold as well as stainless and 2 tone. There are still some very high end items produced there in leather and for some reason Montblanc pens. There is also very nice gold items of jewelery copies of Cartier etc coming from there still, the best thing of course from there are shoes

  5. Not true -_-

The early Luminor Marina PAM reps that came out in 2005 (111G, 118G, 172) with square bridge movements with the stick on plates an recessed pin had genuine SWISS ETA 6497-1 movements in them.

All 6497-2 movements with curved bridges in PAM reps are Chinese ETA 6497-2 copy movements.

    We have just said that!!

  6. Looks very accurate this one! Not my cup of tea, but a great replica none the less!

Totally agree TT. It's like saying a genuine Rolex is a scam because they are priced very highly, where in fact it is the industry standard. Just because a product throughout the whole market is overpriced doesn't make it a scam, it's called marketing, if you don't like the price don't buy it. Simple :)

The same crew chime in everytime a new watch hits the scene over priced / not perfect/ lots of faults when 99 times out of a 100 the item is lovely. In the end by the nature of the industry it's a fake of a watch costing 20 times more what exactly are you people expecting? Maybe you should save your pennies and buy the original because you are wasting your time with replicas there is not and there never will be a 100% exact replica. I agree the price on this is high but it's not a scam the watch you pay for will be the watch you get so where is the scam? I don't know why members have to voice their negative opinions on a sales thread there are a dozen different places to do it on the forum the only reason I can think of is that others members are bored shitless with all the negativity and wouldn't click on another boring thread with people complaining that things are too expensive. The answer is simple if you think it's too expensive don't buy it the fact you think its too expensive of you just can't afford it then look for something that you can afford and keep your mouths shut on the sales threads.

  7. @ piberf -- That movement looks Swiss to me. Like Z3k0 said, needle regulator plus Novodiac shock protection plus straight spokes on the balance wheel = Swiss.

@ sssurfer -- I've got a Swiss E movement from DSN with a dagger. It has the Novodiac shock system, though, not Incabloc. There have been *some* Swiss movement with the dagger regulator...

You are right lots of swiss exist with a dagger indicator but they are hybrid. I saw one a few days ago that was swiss a 177 that started out as a swiss E series and finished up a H series with dagger and swan neck. None of the swan neck are 100% swiss the back plates have to be changed and anything with Panerai on it has also been modified with some Asian parts. The big question is when does it stop being Swiss and become Asian. I myself would call it Swiss if it had all the swiss internals and base plate but would I be correct? Or should it be called a hybrid

  8. The other point is that if your contact in China is charging you $2000 for these 7 reps then it wouldn't hurt to shop around as that's very high by Chinese standards.

    Ken

He is not going to buy them much cheaper than they are available on the net. I know people who have actually be charged more than they could buy them elsewhere. I am in GZ twice a month on average and prices for nice swiss grade watches are expensive and for the layman hard to find. We pay $500 or even $800 for some models from the factory so $290 a watch on average is not expensive if they are best grade. I am sure they could be bought cheaper but 1st he has to find them and then try and buy them cheaper. If it was that easy to find $1000 watches for $100 there would be 1000's more people selling watches. The reality is quality is at a premium in GZ the crap is cheap but the nice quality is all the money

  9. Don't put them in carry on luggage even though you are in transit in Germany. I travel through Amsterdam in transit and have several times had my hand luggage scanned by customs. Once I had cigarettes seized and had to pay 300Euro penalty (6packs). The law is you are liable for customs regulation at the 1st point you enter the EU not only at your final destination so best place is in hold luggage.

  10. Definitely -- luck & timing is the name of the game. I found a new gen set of steel Daytona hands for my watch several months ago, but I have not seen any more since then.

I can get any amount of gen hands/ Winder crowns and some other small bits like crystals etc but cases/movements and dials are a lot more difficult and my source for small bits is limited to how many he can order

  11. The price range I quoted was accurate at the time I wrote that post (January). But, as has been noted numerous times here, prices for anything with the name 'Rolex' on it have been (& continue to be) rising.

I was offered a brand new genuine daytona dial and hand set only this week for $500 only thing I am debating about is its gold! I have a genuine case and movement but stainless steel so gold doesn't really suit me but they are around. just need to be lucky finding the Rolex bits

  12. Excellent idea !

STUPID IDEA!!! You are turning a legitimate transaction into a fraudulent one from your side. Better to just tell the credit card company you have not received the item. Thats enough to get the ball rolling. There is now a chargeback register in use and regular chargebacks will get you on it if the retailer subscribes to it. In all probability the credit card processors have a simular system. Any thing fraudulent like denying you actually made the purchase will if it comes to light cause you to be on the fraud register all your credit will be down the pan in a second. Many cc processors now use Mastercard secure and the Visa equivalent where you put in a password so it's very difficult to claim you didn't know of the transaction. So think before you do anything silly like denying the transaction there is no need to do that you are in the right!

  13. I have a president and since I bought it 4 years ago it has never been more accurate than 10 minutes a month and has been back to Rolex 6 times for calibrating and resetting. So it seems that AD servicing is a scam at the money. In desperation I took it to a guy in Bangkok who sells loads of genuine rolex bits and repairs them cost me $60 for a full case polish/service and timing now runs at to within 3 minutes a month!
