  1. lol... 2 Gens as sample....

Unfortunately, while staring at those 2 gens, they failed to get the spelling correct: on the back it seems to read "MILITARY SPES.", instead of the correct "MILITARY SPEC".

I always wonder how they make those watches...

if you have a gen, why wouldn't you just copy it using "wax copies" of every single part?

  2. Great looking combination. Did it come from the dealer with superlume or did you have it done?

I had the watch superlumed by a watchmaker, but the hands were not done very even, so I ordered some Lume put the hands in diluent,

cleaned them, painted and lumed them myself... I guess I could do the sandwichdial now too...

only problem is/was that I couldn't get the hands plain white... I already mixed some white paint with the lume,

but they always have a decent green shimmer, since you can see their glow even in daylight.

(but it looks good and I understand that the genuine u-boats hands glow much stronger than the dial, so this is ok. ;) )

glad you like the watch! :)

  3. I am currently thinking about buying a PVD 44mm from Jacksopn and reluming it with "black" lume as a phantom watch...

As I am in Germany and already had some custom troubles with the richmond group, I want to be sure before ordering, that these

unbranded homage watches are legal... does anyone know if they have any rights (like geschmacksmuster) that would

allow them to seize such watches?

  4. Hi Guys, first post on this forum.

Like many others I've been holding my counsel until I finally got my watch back from our good 'friend' Rocketeer.

My story started well enough with good communication from Rocketeer in getting on his AR run, and like other members I did as much due diligence as could be considered reasonable. On 8 April 2009 he confirmed via email that my crystal was with Chieftang, and should take around three weeks to be coated and returned to the UK. That

  5. I really think this is no scam, but a case of non prepped crystals...

the crystals that had no AR on them in the first place seemed to get the "normal" CT AR... those who were not prepped correctely

were damaged in the run and either have a yellowish tint because they were not prepped right or were recoated in the uk...

I guess you "just" need to give him more time. I know I can say this easyily not beeing involved, but it looks like he tries to sort out all the

    problems...

    just my 2 cents...

  6. Ok, high cp and low hour wheel...

I'd probably buy a high cp (H3 is the highest, I think... don't know for sure=

and just keep the current hour wheel... then I'd check is it already look good... if not I'd just

file down the hour wheel to the level you need it. if the sleeve of the hour hand is too long then, just

    file it down, too.

    That should work.

P.S. for filing the sleeves of the hands you really ned a very fine jewelers file.

(I just stole a cosmetic file from my girlfried for this which works perfect. ;) )

  7. There is no doubt that Rocket's skills are not those claimed by himself, and this alone justifies the description of scammer (I take the responsibility for the wording)

I can only agree about an official warning that anyone else than ZM, Vac and Chief are NOT modders nor watchsmithes, my wish being to forbid even to mention unendorsed modders, as it is for dealers.

I thought he was a watchsmith who also does quite good superluming. I also heard he does the dead on arrival watches for PT. I only dealt with him once when I ordered a dsn dial and hands for my fiddy. First shippment was lost, second one arrived with airsure...

Couldn't it be that he really "only" is extremely busy, which of course doesn't legitimate the lack of communication and screwed up watches.

I'd really like to hear all that behind the scene info that makes him a scammer.

(Don't want to upset you with this, Pix and this should not be a flame of any kind... I just didn't see the reason that make this a scam.)

Couldn't he have "just" have made a big mistake by not prepping the crystals correctly so that they turned out that bad, which would be of course

his fault for which he should take full responsibility.

Scam is in my opinion when somebody does fool people on purpose to get their money...

edit: (in addition: why would a scammer give out his real shop address and his phone number etc.?)

    Correct me if I'm wrong!

(THIS IS NOT A FLAME OF ANY KIND, JUST MY 2 CENTS... and I know this won't help solving the problem)

  8. If you use a H3 cannon pin and a h3 hour wheel it probably won't look like this... it looks like the hour hand is n a lower hour wheel.

so it might work to use a tall cannon pin together with a low hour wheel, which is probably installed.

I am not sure about this, but I am pretty sure using h3 hour wheel and h3 cp won't look like the hands on the pictured watch.
