  1. Hello Guys, I know that there must be asian replacement cases for vintage Omega PloProfs out there - watches with those cases show up on eBay every now and then. The big question is: Where to find 'em? I want one, but no one has one, knows a supply or ever saw a single case for sale. I already sent Yuki an email as he has access to at least the asian Seamaster 300 rep cases, maybe he knows more about PloProf cases, too... Have you guys seen one so far? Regards!
  2. Clearly the "holy grail", built only in 1987 and in most probably less than 1500 units. It is the perfect Speedmaster: Moonwatch case, automatic movement, date, 24h hand at 12 o'clock... Followed by the Mark IV, a classic that should be appreciated more: and of course the classic moonwatch.
  3. Only cal. 2500, 2403, 2627 and 2628. All other co-axial movements are either inhouse or exclusively produced by Piguet for Omega.
  4. Tudor Day-Date movement... Wouldn't think that this movement is overly interesting.
  5. Illegal or not does not matter. The companies that could have an interest in shutting down a rep forum are located in Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy. In all of those countries someone running a rep forum (or whatever) has to proof that he actually had a financial loss due to this attack and then he would get this sum in case the attacker is found guilty. That means another maybe 10k Euros all in all for attackers with billions turnover per annum for shutting down rep dealers and rep fora that would never take legal steps against a player of this size. Laws only apply if there is someone pleading on them. In this case, there won't be anyone and the watch industry knows that. You see: Scammers and thieves (what we are in their eyes) usually don't take legal action against someone protecting their (intellectual) property.
  6. How long have the attacks been going on? 10 days? I'd think that you spend about $5k for renting a botnet fo the required size for 10 days...
  7. Yes, this is quite common together with crooked cyclopses, dust on the dial, fingerprints on the crystal (inside) or bezel inserts not centered propperly. Had all of those problems on gen rolexes.
  8. having experience in the field of IT security I can say that there are "companies" doing attacks like this for big customers. I know banks that used distributed denial of service attacks carried out by third parties to shut down phishing sites and I can imagine that there are enough other companies trying to do the same with fora like this, repgeek or rwi. The key problem is: If someone is infringing patents, trademarks, rights or whatever the owner of those easily can bring most hosters to shutting down their customers site. Most hosters do not want any trouble and will do what the lawyer is asking for. But the rep forums are not infringing any rights as people in those forums do not deal with it (to a certain extend) and even if one of us is selling a single rep watch from time to time we are not the big fishes they are looking for. Trying to get the ID of every one of us and then take legal steps against everyone simply won't work. But paying a third party to shut the forum down does work, at least for some time obviously. Those offerign DDOS attacks as a service usually guarantee total confidence which is not very hard to do when attacking this way. I know at least three "companies" offering DDOS as a service, two located in Israel and one in Singapore. In my opinion there shouldn't be dealers on our board. As said a collector to collector market is more or less OK as it won't bring big attention the forums, but any big dealer sponsoring (check the RWI / Repgeek / RWG ads on the dealer's websites!!!) and activity in the forums will cause attention and danger to the forums.
  9. The Explorers are georgeous, I can only agree with By-Tor that it is the first nice Rolex for years. But I think they are getting to expensive. 5150 Euros plus taxes make it something like 6100 Euros in most European countries. The Tudor Advisor is cool but incredibly expensive. I was told in the Rolex booth 4200 Euros plus local taxes for the Advisor on bracelet... The first new Tudor with a MSRP above 5k Euros including taxes in Europe!
  10. Spring bar access cutouts do not look better on the gen.. My gen has the 952 the other way round. Second thing missing on your bracelet is the arrow showing the direction to push out the bracelet pins on the first link.
  11. Case finish looks horrible, should be matte, not brushed.
  12. Sorry for bringing up this old thread: Does one of you know why the Helson does not take an Omega dial? Only dial feet issue because of the different movements or something different? Thansk!
  13. A refinished dial will never be better than a rep dial, most probably it will be even worse. I have never seen a good refinished dial, all were crap. I would avoid ANY refinishing, it is only waste of money.
  14. Schaffhausen is somewhat of the opposite direction towards Zurich... The detour to Biel / Bienne LHOOQ mentioned to visit the Omega Museum is worth the time for. It is only a small detour on the way from Fribourg to Basel. Baselworld is only a letdown if you expect it to be like at an AD where you can try all watches. Baselworld is there to attract the watch industry's customers and those are dealers, not people who buy watches. Go there with a strip club attitude "just watching, no touching" and take everything more than that as a highly appreciated special.
  15. When a real Seagull ST3600 is used the quality, power reserve and accuracy is on par with a swiss 6497-1 in standard configuration after a service. Actualy I would not spend the extra money for a swiss movement as long as it is not a genuine ETA 6497-2 high beat movement. But those are more than rare...
  16. as far as I know the crystal will fit but only with the rep gasket. Have fun
  17. it depends... Davidson is not comparable to LH in my opinion. Davidson always was in a direct competition with the cartel and I think with latest cartel releases he got overtaken in this game. Little Hero is something completely different. His watches still offer far superior quality for a lot of money. The movement is still not matched by any cartel Panerai and the crown guard is still the best available.
  18. I like my dial It is an older cartel 005 dial with superlume done by Hijack. Glows like a torch
  19. I can highly recommend Rollis PVD service. He is a pleasure to deal with and the quality and care for every small detail is just amazing. I LOVE my 195 with Rollis PVD. Check the gallery here: http://www.rwgforum.com/gallery/album/12755/69-panerai-195/
  20. Would be interesting what is going on with the Sea Dweller Homage....
  21. Isn't DSNs 360 dial OK? From what I remember it looks a lot nicer than the previous DSN sausage dials... - DSN caseback, dial + hands - Cartel 005 - DLC coating That should do the trick quite good and has everything like the 360: Thick CG, lever with roller, deep rehaut for sausage dials, good crown...
  22. I'd go for the 360 if I had to choose between a DLCed 005 and 360. Why? Because there is a gen 360 out there with all the features you like.
  23. Actually I got a sunburn last week in Arizona But I am sure the snowflake will look nice in summer too
  24. Same question here ... a WHITE datewheel with open 6 and 9 for a 16800 / 16660 built is something I am desperately looking for.
  25. As Frank said: Everything looks OK except the crystal being aftermarket.
