  1. Do you already have an idea of what the costs will be? A case with correct engravings and correct case back would be very interesting... The current rep stuff is all wrong
  2. Quality, thickness and in some cases the rep spring bars do not even have the correct dimensions in length.
  3. Not always. I've seen both on gens, slightly sticking out as well as slightly recessed. The more important thing is: It does not matter in which direction the lever is uneven from the CG but it should be very slightly uneven.
  4. looks like it is simply unscrewed from the stem or is still a part of the stem in the crown thread?
  5. Panerai is about seventy years longer in business than fascists and nazis. They built equipment for professionals long before WW2.
  6. and don't forget General Motors with their German subcompany Opel. Being fascinated be a highly trained, well equiped diver is IMO not comparable with endorsing racism and fascism. Panerais History is about building equipment for professionals with high quality standards and not about Mussolini or Hitler.
  7. Wow, yeah! I'll be in for at least three of the new crowns as well!
  8. Do nothing more - it looks perfect in my eyes. At least compared with my gen PO.
  9. You can get a volcano DLC coated - would be a good match for the Lava LE.
  10. I hope that we'll get a good rep! The Diver is a damn good looking watch
  11. That the 7753 in gen Navitimers is modified simply is not true. On a gen Navitimer you have to change the date by running the time through several days until you reach the current date, so no quick set. The only thing the rep factories would have to do is a new dial and date wheel. The old 6-9-12 case is a straight fit as you already mentioned. The A7753 will work in this combo just like the gen does, too.
  12. OK - just realised that the carbon cases have slightly different crown guards. Will need to do some picture engineering as I don't have a gen to take measurements..
  13. Yep, imo this is the most impressing about his driving skills.
  14. You don't need the pusher. Simply run the time over midnight to change the date. Of course, for several days you have to run the time through several days... Gen navitimer works exactly that way and does not have a quick set date!
  15. Within the next days I should receive my sec @ 12 silver themes. I'll take measurements from the case and will start designing a mold after that.
  16. Hey Lani, please check my PM on the PloProf. Would appreciate an answer.

  17. The gen rubber is only about 120 Euros new from an AD. Might be a solution if you really like the watch.
  18. A RTM mold for our purposes can be made from aluminium, so I doubt that it will be more then double the price of a single case milled out of a solid block of carbon. Downside of the RTM is the fabrication time: With home made equipment I'd have to use other epoxy resin than for industrial purpuses so that I estimate a fabrication time of two days per case (of which 99% is time for hardening the resin).
  19. Though I appreciate Sander's efforts I'll follow the RTM path. I think it is worth a try.
  20. Only thing I am concerned of when machining a case from a CF block is fiber ends sticking out of the surface. That's a main problem with such parts and a huge advantage of RTM where it is very unlikely.
  21. Is the steel one a rubberclad with steel bezel?
  22. The wrong tachy ring is something I could live with. A dlc coated steel bezel could look nice enough I think... For 350 I'd be definetly interested!
  23. IMO not in China and without lugholes out of the mold. Slide pins are not neccessary when drilling the holes afterwards. I've purchased molds of similar complexity before in the $5k range... But more important: You are completely right when saying that even with CF fill the look of the gen case could not be replicated with a plastic part. Your C5 door trim looks very well made Normally I did not pay that much attention to the surface of the parts. It does not matter in racecars
