  1. Yes I think i was lucky, he agreed to sell me the Seconds hand separately but he wasn't happy about it. How about Phong? I know the orange hand is all wrong but the rest might be ok?
  2. Morning M, how about the CWP hand set? I went for the longer and correctly coloured seconds hand after your review on all of the hand sets available. I know they're painted white but would it be possible to remove the paint at the stem end? Cheers M
  3. Woof, does it have 93150 on the clasp as well? Any letter date?
  4. PICTURES ON 'PARTS FOR SALE' Forum I've got a date wheel for Gen Rolex 1570 movement if its of any use to a fellow member, Can't work out if its meant to be silver or white. Anyway its free, you just need to cover the postal charge depending on where in the World it goes. Cheers DH
  5. Thanks for the info Guys, The bracelet and clasp should both have 93150 stamped on them, I guess thats why he's not showing seperate pictures of the clasp on his website.
  6. Having tried to look at the images on the PC website. Just wondered if anyone could confirm if the 93150 bracelet on the cartel 1-1 'Ultimate' versions of the 1680/1665 models are correctly stamped. I noticed that incorrect 93160 seemed to crop up on other reps of these models offered elsewhere. Pictures of the clasp appreciated, do they have a date letter stamp as well? Cheers DH
  7. I was lucky enough to bag Hikes Phong 7032 last year for a very reasonable price, Phong has made a couple of Monte(Chrono) cases over the years, both differ slightly which means that you do need to gentley re-shape the 589 endlinks to fit the earlier one. Tried a Gen 589 on the DW and no suprises it wasn't anywhere to close. I'm with LHOOQ on either Josh's 7836 bracelet or Gen with the 358 endlinks being the best option with the DW case
  8. Here you go Zelini, watchbandman50@aol.com
  9. Here's Mine, The car is produced by a small English company called Sammio. The ethos of the company is to build 'specials' harking back to the 1950's when you would mount a stylish glassfibre body onto an Austin 7 or some other boring everyday car. These days these guys use Triumph spitfire's, or if your feeling very brave a Triumph GT6 based 2 litre straight six. In a body weighing about the same as a crisp packet so not for the faint hearted. I would love to build one but don't have the required garage to keep it in at the moment. DH
  10. Looks Great R, Glad I could help you out M
  11. Yep, mine cost me around the 3k mark. I wouldn't do it again, to be honest the movement suffered from poor time keeping(in theory it had jut been serviced as well) and ended up having an issue with the 24hr Orange hand not following the hour hand properly either! I'd buy one of Josh's 1-1, kick the crap out of it and see if it's really the watch for you. Quite small at 38.5mm as well.
  12. In the market for a Spinmaster 6263-5 V72 Cased Daytona with the converted 7750 non hacking movement. Black or silver dial preferred. Would ideally want one with the Gen crystal, crown and tube. Paypal at the ready Cheers DH
  13. Good Morning LionsandTigers, When you get a minute have a look at one of my old posts regarding my 1655 Super Franken build, as well as the case the other major thing to consider Is the movement you intend on installing. Is it an original 1575 from a GMT based model, or a modded 1570? Ziggy did a very interesting post on these conversions which made for depressing reading if you've already forked out for a so called 1575 Gen and find out its not! I think mine ended up costing me around £5000.00 to build, a huge amount of money but half the price of a so called Gen, I would guess that a lot of the 1655 out there are in fact Frankens due to the model being very un-popular at the time that they were sold new. If i can help in terms of advise then please feel free to give me a shout anytime. Good Luck DH
  14. Hi Zeleni, Imagine the bracelet has got a piece of elastic running through it, when you pull it the links stretch. A lot of the watch companies made them during the 1960's. The one your interested in is a standard linked bracelet as per a 7836 etc Hope that helps! Cheers DH
  15. I'm also in the process of putting together the parts for a 1665 Franken using Gen 1570 etc and while I've looked at Gen dials, in the end I decided to go for an ingod 1665 Rail dial that will need re-luming but for the money I think its currently the best second option bar a Gen. The print quality is superb.
  16. I also got mine from Phong as Yuki no longer produce's them.
  17. Hi B, Hope your well He's just shipped me a GW 1665 caseback with no shipping cost. He states free shipping to Europe, not sure why he's charged you mate? M
  18. If anyone has a spare older MBW GW (curved Rolex script) Case back for sale then please let me know. Cheers DH
  19. Basketbob has kindly agreed to build me a 1665 Franken, but sadly we don't have the retainer for the Gen 24-V50 valve which i want to fit to the MBW case. If anyone has a Yuki or Gen, or has the ability to fabricate one for me i would be very grateful and happy to pay the asking price.
  20. I found this on ebay for you, item - 260785663291, suitable for an early GMT, i think it would go with the age of your dial as well, Experts please chime in. Buy a josh 1655,get the case modded correctly to an early pointed crownguard and send it to phong for re-engraving (200.00usd) to match the age of the movement and dial. Gen crown and tube and a nice set of colour matched aftermarket hands.Thats what i would do if you don't want to end up spending the same amount as a Gen would cost you.
  21. Just out of interest, would you have to remove the positioning feet on the gen dial in order to fit it to the DG movement? I dont have any experience with the movement. If so it seems a shame to do that to a gen dial. I'd sell the gen dial and buy an aftermarket one and get it nicely modded by pbdad or ziggy. Live with the watch for a while and maybe consider a gen long term
