  3. Jamz,

I thought I read that DSN's dial were not the most accurate, is this correct? Bluerex, that is the same watch I was looking at, how is the CG? I was thinking I may just buy one of Tourby's new Titanium CG's when they are released. I would really like to find a closed back Ti PAM so i don't have to deal with the movement issues. Any Suggestions?

    Andreas

The CG looks ok to me. I am not a specialist and this is my first PAM so I am not the best person to ask this. Fish has also bought this same watch and said that CG was ok but it was pushing on the crown too much so he had to sand it down a little.

Overall I am very happy with this watch. The case has a few machining marks on it but I am certain these can be taken care of.

  4. Alright, so I have the bug to get a Titanium PAM and have been researching to find who has the best one available. I don't mind doing some modding, but I want to have a good base to start with. I was looking at this one Josh's PAM 177 and looking at some on Davidson's work, but the work seems to hit or miss. Is there a closed back 44mm Titanium PAM available? Please help out a Noob and get me pointed in the right direction! Thanks in advance for your help!

    Andreas

I bought an asian dagger swan neck from Joshua for $248. Its a great watch but keep in mind that the crystal is mineral glass, not sapphire.

  5. Yes Bluerex...Please do.

Are you replacing the the crystal that came on a standard Joshua case? If so, please also let me know if you can tell any differences.

    Thanks a lot,

    Mike

    Hi Mike.

Yes, Joshua's crystal turned out to be mineral and I have managed to put a few scratches in it without even wearing the watch outside the house.

The new crystal is currently getting double AR from Jakub so I won't have it back for 3-4 weeks. When it comes back, I will take some pics. ;)

  6. DSN does sell these. I have just purchased one last week. They are now $85 delivered.

The csrystal is 3.5mm in thickness, which would sit correctly on a case. There was some talk that DSN's crystals are 3.3mm in thickness but this is not the case (at least not with the crystal that I have bought).

I am yet to see whether it will fit Joshua's case but I am pretty certain that it will.

I will let you know how I go.

  7. You should ask him prior to ordering how tall his sapphire crystal is, they used to be 3.3mm while the standard rep crystal and OEM PAM Luminor crystals are 3.5mm tall. Seem like a small difference but if you install Davidsens crystal on a standard rep it shall sit flush or below flush with the bezel instead of sticking out a few mm. Imho bellow flush in frigging fugly

    Just my 2 cents.

    Hi ravishingrick.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have just checked with David and the crystal is 3.5mm tall.

  8. cordless dremel.. with charger ... buffing wheels .... sanding wheels small amount of red rouge..

to remove factory AR for chieftangs AR run in the future.. you need the green rouge ... they sell the kit at your local hardware store.. does your crystal look like it has any AR on it ??

    Thanks lanikai.

    Yes, the crystal has AR.

I have been in touch with DSN and he sells sapphire crystals for $85. I am still not 100% sure whether my watch's crystal is sapphire or mineral glass. Whatever it is, I can get a replacement 1 from Joshua for $45.

Can anyone confirm what crystal is in this watch? 177H

    Thanks guys

  9. Just checked Joshua's site this has single Ar and it say's "front".. if it is on the outside of the glass.. you cannot use any buffer or polish.. it will remove the ar coat..

hard to imagione it is scratched if you cannot remember doing so.. try taking your finger nail and seeing if it is some paint from some surface that left the mark.. often times what appears to be a scratch is a mark left from some painted surface..

the Dremel is a trademark name.. dremel is dremel... it does come in handy for buffing the polished case also.. and the sanding wheels for various projects..

    Good luck..

btw DSN does sell the sapphire seperately .. he's on the collectors section.. just email him... he sometimes takes a day or two to respond but he will

    Aloha~Cheers

    Lani

It is definitely a scratch. When I saw it, I spent 5 minutes trying to polish it out with my t-shirt - it is still there. No clue how it happened.

I will contact David re sapphire crystal. Would David's crystal fit Joshua's case?

I have just looked up Dremel. It seems there are a million different varieties of the unit and accessories. Which accessories would I need?

    Thanks mate.

  10. You should consider investing in a dremel tool.. it's about 35 usd at the hardware store.. comes with all the attachments and red rouge..

I use aluminium mag polish and a dremel with the small buffing wheel.. it's more economical to buy a dremel that another mineral glass. and you will certainly use it if you continue this hobby for case's, bracelets.. etc. .. it is essential if you want to keep the reps looking good

when you get one pm me or post up and we'll walk you through it... easy .. :D

Thanks mate. I definitely need to get this. Are some dremmels better than others? Do you use Aluminium mag polish on Glass?

By the way, Joshua sells MINERAL GLASS for $45.

Is there anyone that sells Sapphire crystals for PAMs at all?

  11. Hey fellas.

Just a quick one - I have been trying to find a 24mm Pre-V buckle with Panerai engraving. So far they only ones that meet the criteria are the standard buckles that come with every replica Panerai from the factory. These aren't great and I want to find something a little better.

    Any suggestions? ;)

    Thank you.

  12. Great post!

You've certainly researched your topic fully; distilling and sharing that knowledge with the forum is a very generous gesture :thumbsupsmileyanim:

PS, I'm still a relative newcomer when it comes to Breitlings, so if you feel like penning a similar guide....... :whistling:

    Hey Prof.

I actually bought a Navitimer from Joshua along with the PAM. There doesnt seem to be whole lot left to be researched about Breitlings as there are 2 or 3 really good guides already pinned in the Breitling section.

The Navi (42mm) that I bought turned out to be way too small for my wrist so I am returning it and getting a Navi World instead. Navi World is not the best replica out there but I can live with its imperfections. Looking forward to receiving this one. :D

  13. Hi fellas.

Thought I would chime in and offer some advice for replica newbies like myself.

I have been lurking around collecting all the info I could get my hands on and digesting it all before committing to making my first purchase.

As I was getting my bearings, Fish (Bernd) has been able to point me in all the right directions and I am thankful for all his advice.

Now maybe I can repay the favour and speed up the learning curve for those who are thinking of getting their first PAM replica B)

    1. Do not pay over $300 for an unmodded replica. There are countless sites on the net, who offer A+++ grade replicas for $580 - $1200. The make it sound like their replicas are the only way to go and many people believe them
