I agree 100% that one's age and profession is a larger determining factor than the correctness of the rep. I work in an affluent suburb of Chicago and have seen many gen DJ, a few Presidents and 2 Daytonas. I am over 50 and work in a profession where a nice Rollie would not seem out of place. Last week I wore my new VC RG 1755 that I got from Niel. I love this watch and the rich look and feel. I noticed a couple people staring at my wrist. Especially one lady who gave a good long look. I suspect she works in the jewelry business. She didn't say any thing but must have been thinking,"Is that real". This watch sells for about 25K. Maverick

The PAW landed in Chicago a few days ago and I have been waiting for a nice day to take her out on the town. Well today was the day. First stop Illinois Harley to pick up a new turn signal lens. That’s her riding [censored]. After we got the lens installed we headed downtown. Stopped at Buckingham Fountain, where we had a little run in with a cop who did not appreciate me stopping in a no parking zone to take pictures. The cop was not impressed with my story about the PAW traveling the world, and declined my offer to take his picture with the PAW. So we packed up and headed off north on Lake Shore Drive. Took a little detour to check ou North Avenue Beach. The PAW took a rest. That's the John Hanc0ck Building behind her. Next we stopped at Belmont Harbour to check out the boats. Most of you probably did not know that the PAW is a big Cubs fan. We had to visit Wrigley Field. that's her sitting on the saddle bag Our last stop before heading home was Ed Debevic's for a little snack. Here we are back home safe and sound. (actually I took this picture before leaving home [notice the time], but you get the idea) So now the Paw is ready for her next adventure. Stay tuned and see where she ends up next. The crystal on my new sub was not installed straight. I read your post on uncasing the LV. Everything came apart fine. Popped out the crystal lined it up and got it back in fine. Problem is with the crown. I got it to go in about half way and now it is stuck. Will not go in or come out. I have applied pretty good pressure while depressing the release pin. I am afraid I might bend or break it if I push any harder. I like trying to do my own work, but I may have messed things up. If you can offer any advice it would be appreciated. Very interesting that back near the start of this thread Neil said he has had no problems with PP and will stick with it. I think the "Buy Now" button is the way to go. Prevents the noob discription problem. Maverick

WOW, we have had a lot of great responses to the Chicago area get together. I will be working with Repliking from RWI to put this together. I am looking for a nice restaraunt with a room where we can linger, have a few adult beverages, and show off our collections. Since we have folks from far north suburbs, far south, far west, and city. If you grab a map and draw a line from Crystal Lake to Oak Lawn and then draw a line from Northbrook to Joliet. They cross right in my neck of the woods. Oak Park. I will be talking to some of the local establisments, to see what kind of a deal we can put together. I want those who are so inclined to feel comfotable firing up a fine Stogie. I am working on a live band to keep the cool factor up a few notches. Any member who has a piece that is not getting much wrist time should PM me and we will make it a door prize. Make sure you clean and polish your beauties, and put toghter a real nice presentation. Come with all your stories of the great deals, the lost deals, even your favorite TTK stories. Right now I am looking at Friday May 19th, let me know if other dates look better.
