  1. This is my line of thinking too - why are four competitors colluding when they would normally be competing? When you lose choice, prices go up. And the prices are different between dealers. Take a 42.5mm ETA Planet Ocean, current prices: Josh: $228 + $30 delivery = $258 Trusty: $228 + $30 delivery = $258 Silix: $150 + $28 delivery = $178 WO-Mart: $189 + $0 delivery = $189 If that watch wasn't available from other dealers, it would in effect be 45% more expensive. That's a fairly significant difference. Same watch, same shipping, all drop-shipped. I think price is relevant to the cartel discussion.
  2. I have to say prices are part of it - the dollars are what it's all about at the end of the day. No profit, no incentive.
  3. Only on the cartel front (doesn't address the issue of misrepresentation): If we have four dealers selling the same watches for one fixed price, do they need to take up four dealer slots? Three of those slots could be used for more open competition. As for the remaining slot, well, the options are wide open....

  5. Are you kidding? That's just a poor guy that works at the ISP. That's the ISP's whois information, surely.
  6. Quite the opposite!! You are the master Would dingalingdingdingding rhyme with anything?
  7. Distance calls are possible each month when you sign up with Sprint. Sprint Nickle - AnyTimeSM It's your life - call on your own schedule. This one's timeless - no matter when you pick up the phone, you're getting a great rate. For one, low monthly fee of $8.95, you can talk anytime, day or night, and pay just 5
  8. Well, for example, if you like the watches (as in "I want it!") this way you can have 20 watches, say, instead of only being able to afford one. You can have more of them. Whoa, if you get a chick back home and the hair comes off, that's a dude!
  9. :cc_confused: PS I'm James Bond, and so's my wife!
  10. That does make sense - I think it's often just the seller's ignorance on what the dealers are up to 12-18 months down the track, they may not know what the current score is. A friendly PM in the ear couldn't hurt.
  11. Good to have you here then! Welcome!
  12. Here's one thing I don't get. I know that a lot of guys pay a premium on their watches for the level of attention they get from the dealer, fast response to emails, answering all their questions and so on. Fair enough. But if they sell that watch, the new buyer isn't getting that - so why should it be more than the new price from other dealers? You might say, well it's in the country, no customs issues and so on. But it would still be in the country with no customs issues if they'd bought it at the less expensive price to begin with. Does that make sense? And one other thing - yes price is a seller's prerogative, of course it is. But I also notice that there is strong feeling that questioning the price in sales threads is verboten. We've seen some dismal early version PO's up for sale at way more than the latest versions new. Folk then get narky when anyone points that out.
  13. Which begs the question. When you want to start your Balls up, is it best to give them a manual twist, or just give them a jiggle?
  14. That's not too shabby. It was actually more like 15 minutes!
  15. Flaws are as long as your arm. Lange's like this have unique movements, they're fundamentally 'unreppable'. Main thing with this is the location of the sub-dials. I think the gen is much thinner too. But what really counts is that this is a stunning watch, at a substantial discount!
  16. The 45 will be no problem I would imagine. I got the 42 first and then the 45, and much as I love the 42 it's really the 'mini me' version of the 45 now. [The 49mm Railmaster XXL, now there's a real question!! Just be ready for people coming up and helping you across pedestrian crossings....(folk think it's a 'special needs' watch). ]
  17. Crap, I hadn't even thought of that. How the hell am I going to parade her through fifteen Wiggles stalls, and make it out with my wallet?!
  18. Awesome source of information - thank you!!
