  1. Wait, how do we know that the fish isn't catching the bear in that pic?
  2. I like the 'goofs' from the movie - they seem apt: I would like to make it clear that this photo is a scandalous lie. I now have a laser printer, not a dot matrix
  3. Exactly - and even in the US they are disliked by businesses; a lot of businesses don't take it (or avoid taking it where possible) because they charge vendors so much more than VISA/Mastercard. So while the service may be better from Amex, the service from places you want to try to spend it won't be quite so flash. If you look carefully, the waiter just spat in your after-dinner coffee
  4. Certainly it's not something a local watchmaker will do - it's very much a 'rep' upgrade. In the world of gens, owners are more likely to be scrubbing it off the crystal. Do a bit of searching, because it's a big topic. A few members are doing a fantastic job getting crystals AR'd for other members. You will need to remove the crystal and have someone put it back. But be aware that demand is high for these AR runs. Recently a few members have been putting gen crystals in their Planet Oceans - spectacular if you have the $$. Can't speak for the SMP crystal fitting though.
  5. My dog absolutely loves rivers and the ocean - he splashes around like a nutcase looking for fish: "Free food! Free food!" He's also like that in forests, outdoors, and in our kitchen. Oh, and near supermarkets. Frankly, I'm beginning to think it's a bit of a personality trait...
  6. Hey, and I didn't once mention the secret submarine, either.... Speaking of which, did the forum finally get paid for these movie rights? That's the last time we don't double-check Nanuq's carry-on luggage. Better get back to pedalling....
  7. Interesting link. It's a bit apples and oranges of course; the tritium tubes have a half life of 12 years, so it fades over time.
  8. On the subject of mixing up the sprays, here's a photo of a polar bear that made the mistake of charging at Nanuq and came off second best: A nice overall tan I think you'll agree!
  9. Photoshop?! I just clicked the camera - that's the real room, and that's Nanuq's real butt tan line (He mixes up the spray-on tan and the bear repellent spray from time to time.) The Paris marathon - I hope....! Ken, it's time to 'fess up!
  10. This is a tremendous watch - the best lume out there, period. If you're a lume freak, you need a Monster in your life!
  11. Behind the Music: RWG - a secret look behind the scenes of rwg.cc Recently I was fortunate enough to see behind the scenes of RWG with my own eyes, so I thought I would give everyone a glimpse of how the "magic" happens! As you know, the Admin team live in the Cocos Islands. It's a long flight - thankfully one famous member has his own jet (as you know), so that helps considerably with the commute. Cocos Islands International Airport: The step ladder isn't very big, word is next year they're going to upgrade to one with five steps. In the meantime, it's a bit of a jump onto the tarmac. It's a bit of a boat ride to where the site is hosted. Most of the reps aren't waterproof, so there is a special container on the boat to stop them getting wet. The location where it is hosted is fairly inconspicuous and unassuming: Inside is the Admin lounge (also doubles as Miss Understood's boudoir scarily): The bar is well stocked, in case you were under the misapprehension that the admin team was ever sober: Enter the secret password (you all know it) And you enter where the action really happens - RWG mission control: If you look really hard in the middle, slightly towards the right you can see the big red "Ban Slay" button In a room to the right is Nanuq's rep testing suite: And as you may know, the man likes his snow, so RWG has it shipped in specially for him. Hey, it keeps him happy: And after a long hard day running the forum, the Admin teams likes nothing better than to discuss issues of the day, like the new Rolex Yachtmaster II: Enjoy!!
  12. Bunnings = Home Depot for the overseas mob.
  13. That's a lot of spring bars!! Interesting info!

    Snow!

As members are aware, the winters are reasonably long and cold up north - and they feel longer and colder without shoes. Therefore, if you feel it in your heart to donate to the "Buy Nanuq some shoes" charity drive, you can now donate by clicking HERE.
  15. They are different watches - but both are very nice. I have one of each. The 45mm is big, but it's all a matter of perception - you could almost certainly wear either the 42.5 or the 45 just fine. It's more what you are used to in terms of a watch.
  16. The UPO is the 45mm Planet Ocean; Paul's 5th generation refers to the 42.5mm Planet Ocean models.
  17. It is an absolutely insane descent - TV doesn't do it justice, I don't know how they do it at those speeds. Been round it a few times, but only at the speed limit - (it's a license to print money for the police with their speed traps there.) I always go for Ford too; Holden has always annoyed me. (We did have a Ford for years too - although it was a total lemon, I once went through three alternators in a single journey. Took about eight hours for the grin to fade the day someone finally paid me money for it!)
  18. Welcome You'll have to show us some pics of that Oris especially!! Alas - it's incurable....
  19. I think there is only one dignified solution.... Ebay it !!
  20. You may have to hit us with a great afternoon AR shot to get us back on track then!
  21. Hey - no fear, my dog can handle it....
