  1. This is looking really promising - I would love to give my PO collection an AR upgrade. In fact....I'm thinking of AR'ing the house windows too. And the dog.
  2. Whoa!!! This could end up the most expensive thread ever!!! Fantastic watch!! Really tempted by this one, I think Pho has one too - looks great.
  3. A big "danger Will Robinson" on this concept; over thousands of posts on multiple forums folk have been unable to agree which modders know their arse from their elbows. My suspicion is that they're unlikely to start agreeing now. To this day, Big Red Joe has his cheerleaders on other forums, yet he is banned here. Go figure. I do avidly encourage people to try the TZ course or whatever, try to learn some skills, practice on their own watches, and in time learn to help their mates out - for which they will earn eternal gratitude. And it's a hobby, you get out in satisfaction what you put in. I am suspicious of folk that start charging hundreds of bucks five minutes after opening their first caseback. Modding seems to attract more than it's fair share of snake oil salesmen, self-promotion and shill reviews. Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware.
  4. Hublonium?!?! Oh dear.... Can you imagine sporting a 26k watch in a business meeting when someone asks you what it's made of? "It's pure Hublonium." They'll think you're retarded. It reminds me of Billy Connolly's joke as to why the linoleum industry in Fife went to the wall....no-one could pronounce it when they walked into a store. "I'd like a Hblimun watch please." "A what?" "A watch. Made from Hiblininium." "A watch made from bubble gum?!" "No! Hababoonlium!! Pure hbli...oh, fuck it, get me a Swatch..."
  5. Sooooo jealous.....!! It looks fantastic!!
  6. Sounds like you found your 'Inner-Ziggy'! Hmmm, and I think duct tape might be good for getting that caseback off.... [Did you read it to the end of the story?!]
  7. [Maybe it's just me but why do ads for Prison Break DVDs appear at the top of this page? ]
  8. Is it wrong to find this photo of John Terry funny?
  9. [if there is any way you can get the laptop in lieu of wages (which if the company sell them could be in their interest), as a sort of (novated?) fringe benefit then that can be extremely tax efficient. Laptops are one of the few tax free fringe benefits. It would mean you get the laptop and that amount is deducted from your taxable income.] Personally I agree go with the sub-AU$1000 models, a lot of bang for your buck to do most of the things people use a PC for. Look for battery life as something which can drive folk up the wall, a power-hungry processor or a crap battery can drive you nuts in a cheaper brand. But you can get proper brands at that price too, no? The consensus appears to be to give Vista a wide berth on a lower spec PC if you can; stick with XP if possible. External hard drives are cheap too now, so that's one of the weaknesses of laptops sorted. Best of luck!!
  10. My point about households is that the average US household has 2.6 people in it. 300 million people = 115.38 million households. 115.2 million of those have a TV in them. So that's not less than half - more like all of them, as you would expect. The "Ken Burns effect" is the name given in a lot of video software to panning a still image, especially when the entire video ends up being panned photos - e.g his Civil War documentary.
  11. Steady now... As any surgeon can tell you, the trick is not to make the patient buzz and their nose glow.
  12. TV households = homes with TVs. So your home = 1 TV household. Entire Brady Bunch = 1 TV household. It must be kind of cool being Ken Burns now that he has his own trademark 'effect' built into just about every bit of video software. I mean, imagine his diary "went into work, loaded photos, pressed Ken Burns button." I want a Cornerstone button. Just a big keyboard with one button marked 'do my shit for the day'
  13. It reminds me a bit of Elaine dancing in Seinfeld with all those elbows. My money is on this....
  14. I think I might just have the perfect book for you:
  15. Not bad for one day!! Okay, you've twisted my arm. I must need another 4 watches too!
  16. It makes road rage more efficient, because you can stab and/or shoot on-coming drivers with your more dominant right arm, while still driving.
  17. And while we're at it....can't we get rid of this imperial 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day confusion?!
  18. 12 out of 14! You've got to admit....the man knows his arses....
  19. Message received. Now it's exam time though.... Tell me, arse or elbow? http://anonym.to/?http://www.zegelin.com/l...ArseorElbow.htm
  20. I hear that all the cool people are in the Medium-est Thread Ever.
  21. As andreww said, pictures are critical. Especially of that movement. Aside from the nitpicking, does it look like a kick-ass watch?
