Yeah... Sometimes when I get in a hurry and think faster than I type I forget letters. I couldn't find a way to edit the title of the post though.

Long story regarding the pearl in my SSD... Anyway, after two different attempts and epoxy coating and then Dremeling it back off (and part of the pearl material in thr process), I've finally gotten a result that I can live with. Not perfect - There's a small air bubble in the expoxy that shows up just to the left of center in the pearl in the attached picture), but you have to really stare at it from the right angle and lighting condition to even see it. So, what do you experts think?

Thinking about buying a vintage Rolex replica...
tr4driver replied to tr4driver's topic in The Rolex Area
In all likelyhood, I won't be making any modifications to the watch. I see that I can get a MBK 1665 for $400 verses $218 for the non-MBK 1665 that Trusty sells (which he claims is a 1:1 version). Eurotimez has the same non-MBK 1665 (same picture anyway) for $300. -
Thinking about buying a vintage Rolex replica...

I looked on his website. For the same non-MBK versions that I mentioned, his prices are roughly $80 higher. The pictures he has seem to come from Trustytime's website(?). -
I've narrowed it down to these two: The DRSD 1665 http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...ad21aa24d20f166 The Vintage Submariner 5508 http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...ad21aa24d20f166 What do you guys think?

Where can I find a replacement pearl insert for my Sea Dweller? Mine popped out and I lost it before I got around to gluing it in.

I can't really say. I've never seen a gen in person. However, on some of the pictures I've seen, the blue gen does look a bit darker. The lighting really seems to make a big difference with this watch. Here's another shot...

How can I pull off wearing a High End Timepiece ?
tr4driver replied to lanikai's topic in General Discussion
I'm amazed that there are people out there who would actually ask a complete stranger (or even a friend) if his watch was real! Until coming across this forum, the thought never even crossed my mind. However, just in case, I've come up with the perfect answer, "I hope so!" *grin* -
Can I swim or shower with GMT ll Ceramic?
tr4driver replied to Master Chief's topic in The Rolex Area
I have a silly question. Why do guys wear your watch in the shower? Seems to me that it would just get in the way no matter how water resistant it is. -
I know the feeling. Got my SD from Andrew just a couple of days ago (same $303 total), and I could not be more happy. This watch compares very well to genuine watches that I've paid well ver $300 for. I had no issues with the extension link or link screws either. The one thing I am curious about is the claim that it's been factory tested for 100m WR. I have a couple of divers, a 200M Seiko and a 100M Sandoz that I reguarly snorkel and swim with. I would love to take this one into the water as well, but I'm a little nervous.

Thanks! Do you own a TR4 as well?

You can see the crown at arm's length if you hold the watch just right - so that the hour marker is not right behind it. The diver's extension is nice and tight - no way it's gonna pop out by itself. No problems with the screws. I removed two links, and all the screws came out nice and easy. I have a Sandoz Submariner type automatic watch that I bought a couple of years ago, and the bracelet on this watch is much nicer. In fact, this watch is just a heck of a lot nicer all around! I love it!

I just received my Sea-Dweller 1:1 from Andrew today. I love it! This is my first replica, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am pleasantly surprised. I really can't imagine that anyone could determine that this watch is not genuine while it's on my wrist.

Noob dives in and sinks? My first "proper" rep, SMP from a scam site

Oops... sorry, I was looking at the Rolex pictures. -
Oh brother... I'm a newbie and will let one of the more experienced members here take the first swing at this softball. *grin*

I'm not sure I understand the point of pointing the fact that his watch was a fake out to him. Did you actually approach him and ask to see his watch, or did he apprach you and try to pass it off as real? I personally would never even ask anyone if his/her watch was real or point out the fact that it wasn't, even if it was obvious. *shrug*

Has anyone contacted dealers re: "Fake" ETA movements?
tr4driver replied to JohnG's topic in General Discussion
Besides the movements, are there typically any other differences between the Swiss and Asian versions that the rep dealers sell? -

The pics should look nice. They appear to be the same genuine Rolex pictures that all the other scam sites use. -
Greetings everyone. I stumbled upon this site while researching replica vintage Rolex watches. I'm particuarly interested in the Sea-Dweller models. I've been a watch collector of sorts for several years and enjoy all sorts of mechanical watches from all price ranges. This looks like a wonderful resource for replica watches and I look forward to exploring the forum. tr4driver
