  1. The safari is also pretty nice, but a bit over my "gen-rep"-budget and I dont feel too comfortable with the running@12 movement.

I think it will be a race between the SOSF and the Ebel. :animal_rooster:

I have silver/white dial gen Colt GMT - so pretty similar to the SOSF, but the cream white effect on a brown strap is just stunning.

The Ebel would be something special - also good to combine with black, because the dial is not that creamy plus the black parts.

I will probably end up with both anyway :victory:

Does anybody know which dealer still has a Swiss ETA SOSF or at least Asian ETA in stock (square hand, good version)? I definitely dont want to go with the 21J Asian SOSF.

  2. Yeah the Ebel is a really nice one.

The Ebel is one of my favorites, but I a bit unsure how it looks with a brown leather strap - because of the black bezel.

Furthermore I think the Ebel might be too classy :animal_rooster:

I think (hope) everybody knows how I feel. You have something in your mind(white dialed watch) and you begin to research. You find one and than another one and another one...all have their charms.

To find the right watch without regretting is the most difficult part. :cry2:

Come on guys I need some more conviction :good:

  3. Good input! I have never considered VC before, because I thought they make only old fashioned watches. This dial is sweeeeeet.

Edit: I just searched a bit on the forum and unluckily the current VC Overseas doesnt fulfil expectation completely. A unavailable (old) version would be the deal, but the current ones arent as good as the old ones :wounded1:

  4. Hello guys, :drinks:

I am looking for a real good replica with (cream) white dial.

The watch should be sporty, but not too sporty.

I was looking around in the last days and found several watches. For the most watches I found a review, but I am unsure if the white dials are of the same "quality".

When choosing the watch to wear I always try to match up with my cloths. So far I can match up pretty well - especially with black/grey cloths. Since I wear a lot of beige, khaki coloured cloth I need a nice watch which goes good with a brown leather strap :bounce:

I had the SOSF in mind, but it is really difficult to source a square arrow swiss fish.

While continue looking I found the Flying B - a gorgeous watch, but probably way to big.

If somebody can tell me that a Flying B on 7.25" wrist dont look ridiculous than I will choose this one :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    My list contains right now:

Chopard Turismo XL "Ultimate" White - Asia 7750 Perhaps the Asia Eta Valgranes A07.111

    Flying B Chrono SS/LE White

Chronomat B01 SS/SS White Roman sunken dw <_<

    Grand Carrera SS/SS White

Chronomat Evolution Ult V3 LE White/Num

Chronomat Evolution Ult V3 SS White/Stk

    1911 Discovery Chrono SS

Do you guys have another real good rep in your mind? Which one would you choose?

Luckily I am not in a hurry so that I want to take my time for the perfect watch.

I know that there was another thread about white dials and I hope to dont slap me for that :black_eye:

  5. Pretty sure it's a UPO. Looks good. If i were you I'd invest in a stainless steel refinishing pad and go to town on your bracelet. But i'm obsessed like that! :pardon:

The first and most important for this watch is the Gen Crown Tube and Crown. This model is NOTORIOUS for the crown threads stripping. I think mine are on the way out.. Next most important is AR.. then comes the dial and bezel insert. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

p.s. I think only the bezel insert is changeable (with some modding). The gen bezel piece won't fit the UPO. :wounded1:

    Thanks man!

Tube and Crown arent that expensive, as well the hands. AR is also decent.

But to go for 200$ for the bezel insert and 200$ for the dial is another league. I am not sure if it is worth...

  6. By "wokky" he means that the inner rehaut ring,(the metal ring between the dial and crystal... is angled in towards the dial. A gen GMT would have a rehaut that was a bit more cylindrical and would have such angular sides.. (like a WOK)..

The PO.. does appear to be a UPO from the second hand.. It's still hard to be 100% sure because your shirt is blocking a crucial part in determining whether it's a PO.. THE HE VALVE! Do you have any head-on shots of the watch but without the HE valve being covered by your shirt? :pardon:

Yeah you are right! It is pretty wokky

I will get some PO photos tonight - just to make 100% sure.

    Edit: Here we go:

  7. Why do you think the case looks wokky? I know the word wonky, but I have never heard wokky before  .

I thought the EXII would be decent rep. The only real problem I spot was the too dark GMT hand and the slightly yellowish DW.

I found this one of the EXII:

I think to summarize: all my rolex reps are crap :whistling:

Do you think the PO is a Ulitamte PO? There is the plan to go for new bezel, hands, crown and AR :victory:

Another PO pic - funny that I post that in the Rolex section

  8. Hi guys,

I had some mod plan in the past days on my EXII and PO.

But sadly I have no idea which Explorer II I have, because of gen. Dial.

I bought the watch in November 2007 used from a private seller. It supposed to have a Swiss ETA. The Rolex sticker on the back had the right number. I can turn the GMT-Hand with the crown, but I doubt any use :whistling:

That is all I can tell you :wounded1:

At the moment the watch is in Germany and I am in the US so I cannot deliver more pictures than the pictures shown below.

I also added the picture of my 45.5mm PO. I bought this one new from the same source. Also Swiss ETA. Bought somewhere in 2008 - about May. I have this one in the US - so more pictures possible.

    Greetz,

    Gee :animal_rooster:

  9. the strap himself is not so pricey 50euro for the gen, but the deployant costs round about 250euro :(

is your clasp realy so bad G ?? whats wrong with it, was it a new clasp from a dealer? if so why not ask for a new one?

The clasp is not thaaaaaat bad - it stays close and has a nice finish. But one side is a bit "loose" and on the other one of the buttons is also a bit loose (turns with the claps when opening). Beside that it is OK. Than I will probably get only a gen strap...the smell of the rep one drive me nuts :bicycle:

  10. Really nice and touching story! Sadly this not the normal way it goes in the daily life with handicapped people and that makes me sad.

Especially younger people dont treat "other" people with the respect they deserve(I dont want to generalize it).

Due to the illustrating notation I could imagine this game pretty well.

    Thanks for sharing!!

  11. Hi guys,

yesterday I received my SOH V2 black with OR Strap.

Everything fine so far and I reaaaaly like this watch, but:

When I unscrew the crown to set the date/time everything is ok, but closing the crown the date changes the whole time while getting a "not good" sound from the movement. It seems as if the Crown is the whole time in the 1st position where you normally set the date.

I think I read somewhere that this is some kind of SOH V2 issue? Btw: Asian ETA 2842-2 Movement

Just want to make sure that I dont mess up the movement with this problem and if there is any easy fix for it - not this method :bangin:

    Greetz,

    gee

  12. Than I have been waiting for over a year to get my next watch - SOH V2 of course and now that!

I really dont want to get for a V1....too much flaws.

Does anybody know if the V1 maker also make V2 or is it a different company? Why do the still produce the V1 when the V2 is much better anyway...

    :cry2::bicycle:

    Edit: 100th post yeeeeeah
