  1. Has anyone with a rep 3719 (Slevin) tried putting on a real IWC rubber strap or bracelet? Good fit? Any pictures? I'm guessing if the case is 1:1 with the genuine article then it should be a pretty simple mod?

If I remember correctly, the replica case will not accept a genuine aquatimer rubber strap. When I tried, the pins didn't seem to fit and I didn't want to force anything so I stopped trying. I'll try to pull them out of my storage to take a few pictures for you and confirm.

  2. Does anyone know if watchmeister's new "pre-v" style case will come with a crystal? It might be premature, but it'd be good to know! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Here's my "proposed" build of my 201/A that I'm trying to collect parts for:

case: watchmeisters's Pre-V style case (upon release)

    crystal: ???

    crown guard: Little Hero

    crown: Palp SS

    movement: ETA 6497 (ofrei)

    dial: FGD 201/A (upon release)

hands: FGD Pre-V hands (upon release)

    caseback: Jakob's 201/A

On the fence right now between the new Palp SS crown or a T48. The new palp is thicker and beefier looking (which I like), I guess until I have them side by side (or installed on the case) I don't know yet.

  3. You should be fine, the PR fix is a really easy fix... 30-60 minutes tops for those who don't know what they're doing. For the pros it's a 10 minute job. Just need to have some of the basic tools. Post some pics!

  4. Grats on purchasing the 5002, it's one of my favorites and definitely a classic.

Lug width on the faux PR version should be 22mm, you are correct. Pilot straps can be purchased at many places... I would look directly at the sponsors here on the board and see if you can get one custom made for your wrist size. HKTAN does good work but sometimes it takes a while. You can also look into Gorilla and Red12 straps... both of these strapmakers make really nice pilot style straps.

Regarding the deployant, are you sure it doesn't click down? Sometimes it might take a little bit of elbow grease to get the audible "click" of the deployant. I wouldn't be happy with a faulty deployant. If you bought it from a dealer you should complain to see if they will send you a replacement one that works.

For the adjustment of the PR, you're right. It's a relatively easy mod, you need to know how to take off the caseback, remove the crown and slightly nudge the PR needle with a toothpick to full. Wait a bit after moving it though, because sometimes it settles back down and will need another nudge to move it to where you want it. Be careful of the O-Ring when reassembling your case, good luck!

  5. Did you ever find a screw that would fit?

Panatime's screws are a definite "no go", I just ordered two sets of Jackson Tse's screws but he said they would take ~2-3 weeks to be delivered. Seems like I'll be waiting for a while, any confirmations as to if Jackson's CG screws will fit with TB's CG?

  6. They are in fact 21mm... I don't know where to purchase the 21mm spring bars, but I will say that not all springbars are made equally. I've had luck using a 22mm spring bar that happened to fit perfectly in my 3717. Hope that helps, good luck!

  7. Let me just add... when you put the screws back after replacing the strap, don't forget to use some loctite blue to secure them. They tend to "disappear" and are very, very difficult to get. It would be a shame to turn a nice watch into a paperweight because of a missing screw.

Is there really no supplier who can source the radiomir screws? I'm afraid of stripping the screws on mine and would love to have a replacement just in case. Anyone out there buy replacement screws? Suggestions please!
