Picked this beauty up in a M2M sale last week and wanted to share some pics of it. I think that this is one of the best looking Vintage Rolex's out there. However, not sure if it is for me or not. Gonna give it a few days of wrist time before I make a decision on whether to keep it or not. Anyways, like I said just wanted to share some pics and say that anyone thinking about building one can't go wrong with one of JMB's custom cases.
Specs:
JMB Custom Case w/ Gen Spec Bezel
Yuki Dial agedl w/ matching Hands
Swiss ETA 2824
Gen Crown
Clark T-22 Crystal
Yuki 7836 Bracelet

I have been contemplating a career change for quite some time, going back and forth with what I wanted to do when I grow up lol. After a lot of thought and indecisivness, the decision was clear as day. There is an AWCI School located not far from where I live. I will be starting there in the not to distant future and cannot be more excited. Will for sure take this "hobby" of mine to a different level. Anyways, just excited and thought I would share. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

So I have an Omega Speedmaster that I picked up a few years ago, I know that it is probably a fairly cheap version, and these reps in general are not very accurate, but I like it nonetheless. Not to long after I got the watch one of the pushers came off. I would like to have it repaired nd not just junk the watch. I'm more familiar with Vintage Rolex so I'm pretty much in the dark here. Any advice on the watch itself, as far as what model it is "based " on, getting it repaired, or possible mods/gen parts that can be installed would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that short of finding a pusher and literally gluing it in the tube this is a repair that I would like to find someone to do, and as said possibly some other mods if possible at the same time. Or..... is this watch not worth it and just start over with something else.

I am wondering the same thing. I know timezone has an online line 3 level course.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I have a better grasp of what it is, now I just need to decide how to proceed.

Man I really love the watch but was hoping for gen construction..... oh well probably off to the sale forum.
-
That is some interesting reading. There are definitly some similarities but mine does have a LEC. It is hard to see and is not noticible unless you look hard. My drilled lug holes are also "off". So to clarify though, this is not gen bezel construction?

So I picked up a 16610 in a trade along with a few other watches and I am trying to make heads or tails of it. I am looking for some help figuring out what it is. I got it along with a few other MBW's, but I have been doing research about older MBW subs and am confused about difference between them and TW Best. To add to the confusion there is nothing between the lugs. Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated so I know what it is and what to do with it, lol.

I just got this one. Gen t-21, crown/tube, and bracelet!
-
I have this one on the way. Spin with gen crown tube crystal and bracelet.
-
I got mine from Greenberg, just make sure you replace the gaskets on it!
-
So I got an F date code mbw 16610 case. I have a gen insert, crown/tube, and crystal for it. I found a gen 16610 nos luminova dial that I am gonna get and will be using an eta 2836.
My question is..... where can I get a bracelet for the build? I keep reading about "hybrids" built from several different bracelets. Can someone enlighten me or shoot me a message if they have one.... oh I am also in need of a set of super lumed hands.

I agree with Ronin that if there is a reputable seller that you have concerns with I would like to know as well. Can u pm me info if you don't want to post here.

He was not one of the "top rated sellers" that I know of. I also have 3 days after I receive then to return and file complaint with paypal if needed.
-
I was happy with the asking price and he had a ton of other interest in them so to avoid losing them all to separate buyers I just took the lot and saved him the hassle of shipping to 6 different people.

Lol can't put the cart in front pf the horse I guess.

I just scored the mother load! I picked up 6 gen crystals so I should be set for a while lol. I got 2 each of Tropic 19, Tropic 39, and Tropic 127. All are in good shape. Just excited and thought I would share my latest good fortune. Once I get them in the mail I will get some better pics and they may end up in the trader forum so keep your eyes peeled if you are looking for one for a franken project.

Sounds good, unlike alot of my other watches this one is not going anywhere!
-
I just got email confirmation from Trusty that there is indeed a new superlumed 16600 in the works and should be out in about a month! Hopefully the new release will correct the incorrect minute markers on the hands! I cannot wait as I just sold my ssd about a month ago and regretted it the minute I left the Post Office.

I was thinking of membership around the 10 or 15 and keeping it only in u.s. to avoid customs issues.
-
It really is a shame. However I think that with proper moderation and member restrictions it really has promise. I have been finding myself jonesing lately for a daytona but don't want to drop the loot as I know the yearning will pass as it has before when I bought a spinmaster wore it for a short while then it moved on.

195 on new Kain Heritage Strap
Just got my new JMB 1016
in The Rolex Area

Thanks everyone, I really do think the 1016 is sexy. Ogladio, yeah it is purely the size, not just how thin it is, had the same issue with a Gen cased 1675 I built several years ago.I typically wear larger Rollies or an occasional IWC. I have my eye on an old OEM Rolex strap and Buckle I will probably grab to try out.
