  1. then again...the more I think about it the more of a brilliant idea that movement swap becomes...say youll end up paying 160 for the movement (shipped) from otto...you will sell the eta movement that will be swapped for around 60...all in all, youll end up with a finished brand new movement (that is reliable) for the cost of cleaning your old eta............let me know how it works out for you :)

  2. please excuse my poor photography skills :p

and just for reference, I have 7 inch wrists

    enjoy :D

  3. i have the exact same movement in my UPO...i did my research and I believe its swiss...and I do experience the lack of power reserve sometimes. I was told to wind the watch fully, and it did the trick. The fact that the watch is an automatic, however, is odd because the natural movement of my hand does not seem sufficient enough to keep the watch going. maybe it needs service? hopefully an expert can answer this question because I would like to know the answer as well

  4. hey all,

I just recieved my UPO from king today and I just have to say I absolutely am in love with the watch. There are problems, however. There is an issue with the power reserve lasting for only about an hour, and the rotor is very noisy. I'm thinking maybe if I service the watch and lube it or something it should be ok, but I just want to make sure the movement isnt f*cked so I dont have to send it back to the dealer -_-

the serial number on the back of the watch it 816880298 just for reference

    please help me out :/

ps: how much, on average, would it cost for me to get this baby serviced by a watchsmith...say just for regular cleaning and lubrication

  5. "I'm rolling an 07 bmw 335i and an 03 merc G55 at the moment"

haha thats pretty damn impressive for a college kid...the chicks must be all over you lol

and btw, I see you listed that you have the UPO...im waiting for mine in the mail, and i have a few questions:

where did you get it, how much, what movement, and most importantly, how do you like it? is it too big for your wrists?

and if your into omegas and want something classy (which is what im also looking for in my next gen) look at the aqua terras, theres one on sale on the forums, pretty damn good rep, identical to the gen, so check it out

but if you want a rolo than id say jump on that datejust you showed us (minus the bling of course)

  6. moze,

I'm also a college student as well, and Id say the second one is way too much for our age. The first one is luxurious yet subtle, which doesnt scream out "hey look at my blinged out watch"

Id personally not go for either of them tho, im not into the whole diamonds on the watch thing

why dont you settle for a nice submariner rep?

ps: is that your car in your avatar, and is it an amg?? :drive1:

  7. one thing I dont get...why is it so hard for the factories to make these reps even better? I mean they already have the technology...why not really buckle down and make a near perfect 1:1 rep? theyd sell a crapload of watches...but maybe its because the demand for super reps is not as big as we think? maybe this forum is just a very small percentage of the market for reps, and the majority of the consumers have no clue/dont give a crap about the details that we at RWG stress over?

  8. So as I wait for my UPO to arrive from King, I have several questions about modding my new baby

    1) I read somewhere on the forums about a member who tried to change the dial of his UPO to a GEN dial, and it turned out that there was an issue with the date wheel and it not being compatible with the GEN dial...is this the case with all UPO's? or just earlier models?

    2) I know where to get the parts from (ofrei), however, I was wondering how much (on average) does it cost to have all these parts installed (GEN dial, crown, and hands) by a watch repairman...$50? $100? Is it hard to do these mods bymyself?

    3) I know there is an issue with the pearl placement on the UPO's bezel, however I was wondering if instead of buying a gen bezel just for the insert, why not buy one off of ebay for like 10 bucks? do the ones off of the bay have the same pearl placement problem?

    4) Also, I have heard only good things about cheif's double AR...however I have a few questions about that as well. I pm'ed him to ask him these questions, and he referred me to his FAQ...but I still did not find the answers to my questions. I want a straightforward answer: How much does it cost and how long does it take for chief to apply the double AR?

    5) Also, what are the chances of my UPO having an asian clone eta movement? King swears that it is a genuine ETA...but from what I've read around the forums it seems like with the eta shortage, the dealers are basically lying to the customers about the movements and charging the same amount for a genuine swiss movement

    6) How hard is to regulate my movement? If I can open the caseback and have access to the movement, is it as simple as adjusting the + and - signs on my movement to suit my tastes? or do I have that totally wrong?

sorry for all the specific, semi-complicated n00b questions, but please, help me out ^_^

my money is on lord rasta to be the first to answer this thread, as he seems to have much in common with Dr.Frankenstein when it comes to Omegas ;)

  9. I just ordered a planet ocean 45mm from king, and she said its the "newest and best version" and I am assuming it is the UPO, however I just want to make sure of two things:

did the 4th gen planet ocean come in 45mm?

do you know if king carries the UPO for sure?

also, on the UPO, the engraving on the clasp says "PROFESSIONAL, PLANET OCEAN"

just want to make sure I ordered the right one, as this is my first rep and I did MOST of my homework on the watch Im getting :)

  10. In my few weeks of browsing the RWG boards for as much info on reps as I can possibly find, I stumbled across one tidbit of info that kept popping up without an explanation as to what it was (as far as i have searched)

what the hell are closed factory watches and why are they so sought after??
