  1. From What i've seen on other sites and on Mullers site, Its a different watch. An older, OOP, version of the Cassablanca Chrono. IT doesn't have the Date window, but from what I've seen everything else is a pretty accurate REP. It feel great on the wrist though, except for the strap. I say go ahead and get the one you want. worse case senerio, you don't like it when you get it, and you sell it or it sits in your watch box.
  2. Thats a Great Point Toad. If I ever find myself in the situation of flying a WWII RAF Halifax Bomber, this is def the watch I would want to be wearing. I like it. If you like it, buy it, wear it and laugh at all the people that tell you it sucks. Or kick them in the shin. Or whatever.
  3. I'd wear it, but then again, I dont give a damn what other people think. It's not the most attractive watch in the world, but I have def seen worse.
  4. It's a great Rep, But I wouldn't wear the GEN, so.....
  5. Here the Link to Franck Mullers Site if ou'd like to compare some of the Gen Photos. http://www.franckmullerusa.com/collection/3 I accually just got this one from Andrew; FM Casablanca Chronograph SS Black - Lemania Movement The Fit and finish on the watch is great. The hands and numbers are very accurate from what I can see. The case is pretty much spot on, the engraving on the back is nice and smooth and looks very GEN. I'm not sure about the AR coating. The Band however, Just Screams Rep. It's a good leather strap, but really, when you look at the watch, this is the thing that jumps out at you. It has that $400 rims on a ferrari look, if that makes since. I'm going to be putting a nice black croc strap on mine from Banda.com. The model I picked up has the Lemania hand wind movement. I set it on Thursday and so far, it's kept great time. Andrew was great during the whole ordering process and kept me abreast of the shipping and tracking of the watch. I'll most def be ordering from him again. Probably this week. I know this isn't the exact model you're looking at, but it's the only FM rep I have experiance with from the same vendor. Hope it helped.
  6. Well I'm pretty new to the whole REP aspect of watch collecting. I've been collecting GEN TAGs and Movados for a couple years and started reading about REPs and how well made they can be about a year back. I'm not looking to get a REP to pass off as GEN by any means, but honestly, I love the look of the sub but I'm not in a position to spend that kind of $$ right now. So I've been looking around and I've found this one. I've read through alot of the older posts in the Rolex section here. There is just SOOOOOO much information. I keep reading about "Ultimate" this and "1:1" that, but it's not all sinking in just yet I guess. So I'm gonna post this link and ask for your opinions on it. Is this REP worth the $$? I've seen alot of great things said about Trusty Time, which Is why I starting looking there. Thanks in advance for any information and your opinions. http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=1234
  7. screw that, I wanna see pictures of the pig. LOL jk.... Ok not really, but post pics. And welcome.
  8. Probably one of the few Rolexes I'd acually go out of my way for. Personally I love a simple watch. Something like a Movada Museum is my personal pref. No bells or whistles. Just a well made sleek timepiece. I think I'd like to see an Explorer with a leather band. Hmmmmm....
  9. I hate to say it, but in the "field", realistically, he'd wear a Casio Gshock or something simular (Just like all your other operators in the world). While you're mac'in on that banging double op at the casino, sipping on martinis and taking the houses money, your Rolex or Omega is the way to go, but for other times, not so practical. Plus I can't imagine it's very cost effective for the Q sector to keep making modifications to Rolexes (tax dollars hard at work I guess). With that being said, I wonder if Rolex has a C4 clause in the warrenty?
  10. Hey everyone. Just thought I'd drop in and introduce myself before I said something and everyone wanted to know WTF I was. I've been into watches for about ten years now, I love them. I've a few GEN swiss timepieces in my collection, mostly TAGs and a few Movados. But recently, in a drunken adventure one night, I picked up a REP Seadweller while I was in Japan and was actually pretty impressed with the build quality and accuracy of the timepiece. There are a few things that set it off from a GEN right away, but for the $$ I paid for it, I didn't expect anything else. But whatever. It keeps good time and looks good enough for me ATM. I'll be doing a few mods to it, mostly because I can't leave anything alone. So that got me looking into other REPs and I stumbled across the old forum. After reading ALOT of it, I'm moving on to here. Hopefully I can learn some things and maybe share an opinion or two. Thanks!
