  1. A lot of sweat, tears and pain! No...actually the top part of the crystal opening was machined with more of a slope to accept the gen. What I did is used two bergeon caseback tools and slowly worked around the bezel until it came off. It's a pain, but it will come off and the bezel will most likely be bent. To straighten out the bezel, put it between to blocks of softer wood (pine) and slap it into a vise and squeeze...
  2. I have scaled back my project time substantially due to my new position at work. I try to capture precious moments to spend with the family and complete projects that have been stalled for extended periods of time. I've always had a fascination with the DSSD. The watch itself is an engineering marvel and this is why I purchase an ultimate noob DSSD. This rep, IMO, is the closest to the original in terms of engineering. But I was never quite satisfied with the small "nuances" that came along with the noob ultimate. In particular is the bezel assembly...and this will be the first phase of my DSSD superfranken project. I purchased a genuine DSSD bezel assembly of fleabay and test fitted it on the noob case...no shocker here...the claimed 1:1 nood DSSD isn't really 1:1... The genuine assembly doesn't fit all the way down to the case. So the endeavor to modify the case to make the gen bezel assembly starts... After a few hours and a tiny chip on the crystal...success!!! Those bold and bigger fonts on the genuine insert can't be matched by any rep insert... Side profile of the case with the genuine crystal. The genuine insert fits perfectly around the crystal. The crystal protrudes ever so slightly above the insert. Stay tuned for phase two of the project...replace the factory date wheel overlay and installing the genuine dial...
  3. J! Back with a vengeance and a nice DJ to boot!
  4. so...this means my US Marine Tudor is not worth tens of thousands of dollars????
  5. benting back into shape would be a piece of cake...I usually use a small pair of needlenose pliers with some masking tape rapped around the jaws to prevent marring of the hand. Then slowly straighten it back out. by using the pliers as a "press" so to say
  6. Hi H...I'll take one if their not all gone...PM me please
  7. Why don't you just buy a Yuki 3135 and get the project finished? It sounds like that his the better 3135 clone... I used a Tissot Lemania movement from an older PR 516 for my gen build. If you are lucky, you can find the whole watch for under $500. In most cases, buying the whole watch is cheaper than buying an gen Omega movement. If the Tissot movement bridge bothers you that much, have a closed case back or switch the bridge out with a gen Omega bridge. It should be a direct fit.
  8. I haven't tried any gen parts on my Y3135 chef...but that is great news...especially the stems!
  9. Great review! I guess I'm keeping my Y3135 movements!
  10. I recently contacted admin and they are still working on the PP issue
  11. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/144218-question-on-using-a-7753-in-a-daytona-dw-v72/ Discussion here The problem with using a Seegull 19 is that the subdial layout is wrong, but there is a "faux" fix for that discussed here
  12. It's under RWG store...but the PayPal link doesn't seem to work...I believe admin is working on it...
  13. A 7753 works fine with with a DW build...if you do search...I've build one with a 7753. The day/date wheel plate makes up for the extra thickiness. A 7752 is a waste for a Rolex build, because you can use it for a Panerai build. OP...swiss 7750 tri-compax movements do exists, but are rare to find. Zeno, Coifman, and other "micro-brands" used these movements for their builds. You can usually find them on E-Bay for around $200-$400.
  14. Looks like a success journey to me!! Congrats!
