  1. As long as someone will buy it, the dealers will produce! Your dial is wrong, it should have black surrounds on the indices and orange lume on all of the them, not just at 3,6,9
  2. This is not like you jmb...figured you would machine a case yourself and find the dial, movement, etc to put in it!!!
  3. Buy the PT 1680, refinish the crown guards, change the crown/tube out and wear it. Don't worry about being called out, if YOU like it, that is all that matters. 90% of the population won't even know what a 1680 is, only that it is a Rolex. Because you own a Rolex, most people are going to assume it is fake anyway. If the color of the red dial bothers you that much...go to a white dial 1680 or source another dial. You could even retrofit one from NDT/Yuki/etc. Just make sure that it fits. Based from my experience, I've noticed that dealer vintage dials tend to be a little larger in diameter than gen-like dials. There are a LOT of aftermarket dials out there now and they do not come from the same factory.
  4. That is probably the guy that got the 128 on E-Bay for $10....aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!
  5. Hey M! I already have a dial for this project. I was still scouring for the proper handset and the proper bezel. With this DW case, I can now swap parts between my Yuki case and come up with a half decent 7032. Yuki mentioned that the hand set should be in the second week of June...I think that is what DW mentioned also...hhhmmmm...
  6. Just got the DW in the mail today! Here are the pics. After handling the Yuki cases, I'm very impressed with the DW case. Great price point for this case, considering that you get a proper bezel (225 is in proper place) and a proper crystal. The CG's are nice and square. The engraving on the case back is surprisingly nicely defined. The only thing is the engravings between the lugs. I hope this is a temporary thing for DW. Experts! Please chime it!!!!
  7. The blue looks wrong...
  8. Member X...IMO...unlike the cyclops on sapphire crystals. It's very difficulty or next to impossible to remove a cyclops from an acrylic crystal without damaging it. I've tried a couple times, none with success and gave up...
  9. JMB you are the king baby!!!
  10. I've got one of his 7032 cases coming. If anything, I can scavenge the crystal and the bezel and make a hybrid with the Yuki case. Based on the pics, the caseback engravings look too shallow, but that could be the pics. I'll know better when I receive it! Plus DW did mention that his engraving machine is down, so the case might not come properly engraved. Yuki also informed me that 7031/2 hand sets should be ready by the week of June 10.
  11. Sorry Ubi! Please don't take any offense of my comment...it was directed at the DW crowns! I have 3 of them and all of them had the same problem the OP mentioned! But back to the question at hand...Yuki has a used gen crown/tube set for sale on his site for $60, pretty reasonable IMO...but it looks like they are now on backorder.
  12. Those DW crowns suck the bag...get a used gen and an aftermarket tube instead...
  13. This sounds like a really cool project. When time comes, I'm definitely in for one...thanks for the update!!!
  14. Thanks fo the tip guys! I'll try auctionstealer... I'm sick and tired of being sniped at the last moment or that I get too busy and forget to bid!
  15. I was busy working on the kids playset today a forgot to bid on a cyclope 128 on fleabay!!! It went for $9.30!!!!!! I was so looking so forward to getting it for my 7032 project!!!! Sorry guys....venting over...
  16. The Japanese Rolex reference books also indicate that the clasp was only found on the legendary srsd... @ Alligoat, did you ever make a srsd out of your thin cased 1665???
  17. What the heck R???? I didn't know that you did bezel inserts??? Or maybe I haven't dug deep enough into the RWG archives??? It lllllookkkksss gggoooddddd!!!
  18. Yes!!! This is a really cool looking Breitling. I had to decide between this and the B-2...I purchased the B-2...maybe that was a bad decision
  19. So those Japanese Reference books are pretty accurate after all! Now I gotta learn to read Japanese and then were golden!!!
  20. This is awesome jmb...please definitely keep us in the loop!
  21. You disgust me jmb...GREAT WORK ONCE AGAIN!!!! Question jmb...I might dabble in a little metal work. Based on your opinion, do you think that mini mills and mini lathes are any good for projects such as your Tudor project? Thanks in advance for the advice!
  22. The AP bracelet complements this case really well! Nice "one of a kind" protype Tudor jmb!
