I had a similar problem with my Skyland. About 6 hours of standby.
I put it down to being an office worker and the watch getting minimal winding time during the day. (I actually take my watch off when I'm working on the PC).
I manually wound (I know, I know) the watch slowly for quite a long time (100 winds). and now give it a gentle rotate (so I can feel the insides moving) for 30 secs several times a day.
It's been fine since.
-
No worries, I have a mate of a mate (who was on here a few years back) who can do it.
But I'm going to have a wander round a few local watchsmiths on Saturday. (I'm in the Reading area).
I'm waiting for my 2nd watch, hopefully today, so I'd like to get both 7750 movements cleaned and oiled.

Great info for a newbie !!
Many thanks!

Wanna sell your smaller one Greg?
-
Sorry to interupt, but where was the friendly watchsmith in the UK?
-
thanks guys. A little research on my part shows the 2008 Super Avenger has been given a make-over. Perhaps when the reps get caught up they can make some adjustments to improve the current rep.

Doesn't bother me .. it ment I could pick one up 2nd hand in the EU a bit cheaper than the dealers!
As I have with my 2nd watch.
-
They need movement to wind them.
I've a Skyland and I found the same thing to begin with. After a nights sleep it'd be stopped.
I work in an office and as I wear my watches face down (on the inside) I usually take my watch off when at my desk. Because of this I'm not auto winding it during the day.
So every now and then I give it a gentle shake for a bit.
It lasts longer over a weekend when I'm out and about and generally moving.

LOL - last time my wife asked that, I just looked at her and said "shoes".
(notes that down for later use but .. shoes horse stuff).
I wouldn't mind, but the price for the ring is after the 30% discount
-
Then double that figure and buy watchboxes to suit. Trust me, you're going to exceed the first figure you thought of
I paid for my 2nd rep last week.
The GF asked why I bought a second, as I'd already bought one.
I'd have thought spending

I see tons on ebay. Try this:
Ahh, I tried searching for AceTimer, and it didn't match any products. Didn't think to use it as a shop name
Look good. Now to decide how many watches I want to buy in the long run
-
Thanks for the link, nothing on ebay now, but the site looks good.
I like the glass tops, but I can see I'll need to get a few more watches first
-
Seeing as though I've just bought my 2nd watch, I should get a box to put them in
Apart from ebay, where else should a be looking for a cheap box for a few (a pair so far) watches?
-
they were also very easy to repair in case something broke, you could work on the engine yourself. try that with a modern car
I've a few modern cars and I DIY the work.
I like the special tools they have though .. hammer and wood blocks.

Well I've got my first proper Rep (Breitling Skyland) and I'm very happy.
But I know the lume is a bit pony, and the lume dots are not 100%.
Is there someone who can re-do this for me in the UK?
Or can I just get a new Gen dial (where from?) and have it fitted?
Cheers guys.
(Already had one authorised dealer friend think it was a genuine).

I just got one of these (yesterday) from a member here too (xslyyx - thanks again!). I'll add my pics here instead of making a new thread (hope that's cool?).
Few rubbish pics (including my wrong way watch wearing) as I'm only using my camera phone.

My daily drive .. and also used for occasional weekend abuse.
For the back road blasts.
The other half has a Mk4 Golf.
-
Wear it on the left, but on the inside

I'm really after a Breitling with the 2nd face on the strap .. but that means I'll never see the 2nd face, or it'd be upsidedown.

G35 is the skyline
350Z is a 350Z
Same engine and chassis though.
So in Europe (inc the UK) we don't get the G35/Skyline, we have the 350z as the only option.
But there are Japanese personal imports of the Skyline (RHD, over LHD).
-
No Infinity in the UK.
The price of petrol makes the 350z (the G35 equivalent? or the import Skyline) and the RX8 a bit silly here.
We have just had a MASSIVE price drop in petrol, people are raving that it's only 99p a litre (About $6.90 a US Gallon).

Are you trying to tell us it is a pleasure to drive from Scotland to London?
Well it's a lot better than the other way
-
Actually Bibbs I recently had the pleasure(?) of driving a Vauxhall Vectra from Scotland to London, and also a Vauxhall Astra from London to Manchester. I must say I was extremely impressed with the build quality and driving characteristics of both. I'm a terrible car snob, but these were genuinely impressive. The fact that thay are so uncool makes them cheap on the used market also.
Oh dear ..
It just shows how bad other marques are if the Vauxhall lineup is concidered good.
Same as Euro Fords.
The only good reicent Vaux are :
VX220 (Made by Lotus), Monaro (Made by Holden) .. erm ..
Fords? If they come from Europe, no.
XR6, XR8, GT & Mustang - Yeah, they'll do.
(All in my opinion obviously )

Okay, noob question.
Why is this a Super Avenger BS. The dial is the same style as my Skyland Avenger. I thought the split numbers was a Skyland, and the solid number was a Super.
I'm confused.
