  1. thanks for the Toro link, That helped. just wondering if i want the torpedo love on my dial. So you don't even think the new and improved dial for Noob has Panerai in the correct spot? did you order the extra lugs and Watch from PT as well or from Toro? Thanks!

  2. ok, used the search function and got caught up sort of..:

Overall the differences i have gathered from the fora:

    Noob

    1) Has Ceramic Crown like GEN (really nice feature///or liability...i guess it can crack easily)

    2) Apparently has better case color? Have not seen side by side between H vs, N vs Gen on ceramic color. maybe i missed it

    3) Claim that lugs are replaceable with OEMs and will not scrape color when entering case? Are these two claims true? I had an earlier 292K from H and lugs definitely started scraping off the thin PVD on lugs

    4) Pig Dial is apparently not as crisp as gen or H factory...confirmed atleast with one picture set...don't know if it is representative

    5) updated dial without pig has Panerai in correct placement now...this seems true now

    H

    1) has best pig

    2) 292K that i had lugs with thin PVD and black color was getting removed (had to use thick black sharpie)

    3) my 292K case cracked right at the lug area...This is why I am seeking a new 292...please help... I can load a picture of my cracked case for your persual if requsted. :)

    4) Cheaper

Anyone can confirm or have pictures Noobs claim on point 2 and 3?

    Thanks for your help!

  3. thanks DG,

When you look from the side of the case at the "crown guard", the edges of the crown guard look curved (ie where the arrows are pointing) ..  i assume to give clearance for turning the crown... yet it doesnt look like the cutouts are symmetrical (ie it looks like the semi-circle cutouts are closer to the top of the crown guard then the bottom), but could it be lighting?

other photos from other watches look similar, though i haven't seen a gen from this angle.

  4. 1) the area around the crown guard.. is that accurate? the curvature inset around the crown? it doesn't look symmetric?

    2) how does the dial look wrt registration and lume application? 7 0clock hex screw looks off? but par for the course? can i manually fix?

    3) overall comments?

    4) i  know i need a regulaion check and a lume check

    5) anything else?

    TIA for your expert eyes!

  5. When you buy a complicated movement like a mechanical chronograph in a replica, you must accept that you will need to service it in order to protect your "investment" .. Perhaps not in the first months but eventually.

that makes sense, but this is not a complicated movement (i.e. no Chrono with the diver)

  6. I am not 100% how it's supposed to function as in gen diver, but it does rotate with super accuracy w confident 'clicks' ; When it rotates it is perfectly aligned with markings on the watch face. Hope it answers your question :-)

Wow, so the internal bezel clicks on the minute markings? I thought was just a free-flowing bezel. Is it also only one-directional or is it bi-directional?

    Thanks!
