I have a hotel-style safe and pile all my watches of value in there. No insurance.

Love it on that strap! Nice job, AJ!

Outstanding!

Welcome! I hope you enjoy it!

Andrew / Trusty has been extremely reliable for me.

Too bad about your buddy being a hater. Since you already own a gen B&R, just wear that with him and don't even bring up the rep.
Of course, he usually couldn't dicern the difference, except if he compared the two side by side. Most people who buy Rolexes are only concerned about the status. Most people who drive Porsches around here could care less about driving.

You will find that any high-polish metal surface is utterly destroyed by even the slightest grit and dust. Buy an inexpensive Dremel Tool and some metal polishing rouge to keep it looking it's best.
Good advice, but I have a 10 year old gen Bell & Ross Pilot with a high polish bracelet that doesn't look as bad as this watch does after 5 days.

Cosmosblau - just be honest. Tell your buddy you bought a rep and then the two of you can compare them side by side. What else are you going to say and why would you, anyway? This is a perfect chance for you to spend a ton of time handling his gen and looking them over side by side. He's going to be just as interested as you, trust me. You'll have some fun while you are comparing notes.
This is usually good advice, but this guy is a rep hater- a Beverly Hills IP lawyer.

Looks very good to me!
Many screem up about bad CG, but I think yours look just fine! Very Gen-like.
I should be getting one within 2 weeks. (from InTime/Ryan)
What movement did you get?
How is the Rotor noise?
I got it with the Asian 2836. It is surprisingly smooth and sets up and winds almost like a swiss movement. Rotor noise is inobtrusive and very minimal. I'm very pleased with this watch.

The Lume is pretty good. It's a blueish green- not super bright, like a Seiko Monster, but lasts all night.
-
I did get it - I love it. Not bothered by the Bezel at all. I don't know what I'll say to my friend who has the real one.
It's a really nice bracelet. One interesting thing is that the clasp is all scratched up after just a few days of only desk diving. I wonder if it is softer steel. The steel looks very, very bright in general.
Best,
Andy

Mine is on it's way- In customs now!

Yes, the bottom end is slightly askew to the left. But I would also say that that is somewhat common on reps as it indicates 1 of the differences between a $300 rep & a $6,000 gen.
So, does that mean you wouldn't ask for a different one?

There is a difference between "Super Lume", which is what our Trusted Dealers have been selling on certain watches recently, and "Superluminova", which is a trademark of the Tritec company. Superluminova is the nuclear-bright lume on most high -end gens, and is very expensive. The "Super lume" on most of these reps is moderately brighter than the crap rep lume we have been plagued with for years.

I'm here and lurk on Repgeek, but hardly ever post there (or on here for that matter.) The color scheme makes RG too hard to read, and the people seem much more obnoxious and egotistical than here. This one is the best.

The used gens are fairly reasonable. I just priced one mint on a strap for $3800.
-
This looks so amazing!
-
It's bad enough to wait for a watch when it's already been released. It's killing me!
-
The Rotor may be loose. I've had 2 watches arrive that way.

Another vote for Acetimer.com - Very nice Watchboxes for the money!

Will the Clark 16660 insert fit on the SSD? Is the Clark Pearl OK, or is there a better option?
I have a confession to make...

You should know that Rolex does not make any watches with a PVD finish. It is just an aftermarket mod.
